Personal training in your home! And helping a wife when the medical system fails - Jayce Van Alstyne
Did you know there is a business that delivers trainers right to your home?
Jayce is one of those trainers!
Jayce Van Alstyne is a colleague of mine I met at university for Kinesiology.
He’s been in the industry as long as I have but went into a unique path of working as a in-home personal trainer, and even owning a part of the franchise!
In this discussion, we go over his story of what led him into training, and all of his experiences along the way.
Along with that, we also spoke about his experience of helping his wife, Alyssa Van Alstyne, with the medical challenges she faced when the medical system had no answers.
If want more context you go back to Episode 90, this was an interview I ha...

    On Wednesday (11), the Brazilian Federal Police and the Ministry of Labor and Employment found and rescued two workers under conditions analogous to slavery in Primavera Farm, which neighbors Apyterewa Indigenous land in the town of São Félix do Xingu, Pará state. The farm’s owner is the deputy mayor of Tucumã (Pará state), Wanderley Dias Vieira (Social Democratic Party), who was not found at the site during the operation

  • @comico-revolucionario
    @comico-revolucionario 23 дня назад

    Also , you think too much about your own muscle , why dont you think about the planet and about the animals too ? THere will he always fights , discussion , drunken abusive daddies , and much more violence until you stop consuming violence , violence will always chase you all , why are you like that ? arent you seeing here in BRazil they are detroying all amazon to make cattle beef .... arent you seeing here in my country all major big land owners acumulate billions in work analogous to slavery condition here why you think you can pay so cheap in a burguer , maybe some poor brazilian here working for free ? its bad for you , meat cause cancer .... heart issues ... dead wood its contraproductive to build muscle

  • @comico-revolucionario
    @comico-revolucionario 23 дня назад

    I am vegan and I have 4 times your muscular mass , I lift 100 kg 2 cement sacks 50 kg each , free weights , not gym weights where you have where to grab comfy ..... animal agriculture is the biggest environmental destroyer , you would save half of amazon going vegan you only say those thingss cause you never worked in a farm , I already did , everyone inside the farm and living around it is always sick , bronchitis , cancer, ashma , allergies ... the impact this farms have is massive .... and its obvious that vegan nutrition is superior than a pieec of corpse with protein

    • @RQTrainingNutrition
      @RQTrainingNutrition 14 дней назад

      First off. I'm genuinely concerned for how angry you are as a person to leave this many comments. Whatever you think your vegan lifestyle is doing for you physically, this kind behaviour mentally cannot be healthy to be this negative, and feeling the need to attack someone if they disagree with you slightly. You spend a great deal of time attacking me personally, stating your bigger than me, and you believe this why what I say couldn't be valid. You vs. me isn't sufficient evidence for either of us to make our claims. What makes more sense is to use data over thousands of people to see on average who gains more muscle mass on a specific diet. On average people will gain more muscle mass on a diet with animal based protein vs. only plant based protein. With that being said, on average, if someone ensures they get enough Branched Chain Amino acids, they can build just as much muscle on a vegan diet as they can on an animal based diet. So it's very possible your bigger than me. And I agree...the idea of clearing out the amazon for more beef cattle isn't good for the environment. Industrial cattle farming is a problem. However isn't all grand scale farming a problem? If the world turned vegan, wouldn't those field then be filled with plants? And those fields would still be responsible for animal death of the animals (rodents and birds) that would have lived there or try to live there while the farmer grows the crop. Is a vegan still not responsible for animal death then? And have you looked into monocrop agriculture? This is a common practice in the USA and it is also a great destroyer of the fertile ground. You said I'm not a farmer, but I actually did grow up on a grain farm. And my father educated me on the proper understanding of crop rotation. If you don't do the crop rotation it will ruin the top soil. That's ruining the environment. Last point on the farming...You know you need tractors to grow this stuff right? Running off of fuel... so this is better for the environment? And of ALL of the greenhouse gas emissions, the total impact ALL of agriculture has is 10-12% of direct impact, and another 10-12% of indirect impact. So a total of 20-25%. I'm not saying it isn't a impact, but it's not the biggest one. The food system is a messy place. There are not pure solutions only trade offs. I hope you appreciate I was sincere about saying I respect your ethos of doing what you think is right. And it seems to be making you strong and hopefully physically healthy. But my personal opinion is that it's not the true long term solution.

      @@RQTrainingNutritionjust the quality of cinnamon😇 it’s not the cinnamon itself but rather contamination during processing🙈 So any good quality cinnamon should be just fine🙏 however if you consume a lot of cinnamon on a daily basis you should probably stick with Ceylon cinnamon instead of cassia cinnamon (most normal/common type). since cassia contains a lot of coumarin which can be toxic to the liver in high amounts. So a good quality Ceylon (which most Ceylon cinnamon is) and you can basically eat as much as you dare👏 hope that helps🥰 they look absolutely delicious by the way😋

    • @RQTrainingNutrition
      @RQTrainingNutrition 2 месяца назад

      Major in kinesiology and then a second degree in nutrition. But this I learnt in the gym because most people don’t know that strength comes down to the power equation. Force X Velocity = Watts so when you strength train you want to optimize that but more recent research has shown for muscle building is about mechanical tension which is the last few reps I spoke about.

    • @davkang9030
      @davkang9030 2 месяца назад

      Bro though that he asked mocking question, but got legit answer 💀

    • @Schnorzel1337
      @Schnorzel1337 2 месяца назад

      I don't agree with the idea of thinking about your training in terms of power and work. The physical units. Telling someone to stop on speed decrease is weak tho. If your muscle trains with more power output but does less work it will not grow as much or adapt. And for the competition lifts you need to practice low rep ranges.

    • @RQTrainingNutrition
      @RQTrainingNutrition 2 месяца назад

      Well, the physical units are real. And when I say you should stop when speed reduces is backed by powerlifters AND the research when it comes to strength development. You want to keep reps in reserve and NOT go to failure. Notice I didn't say it has to be fast relative to what you think fast is. When powerlifters lift their reps, it looks slow, but the problem is when you're doing a set and it gets slower during the rep. Deceleration is a sign your body is overworked. I didn't say go light. But I kept it simple terms for the average lifter saying 1-8 reps. So if you want a specific number you should be 80% or higher of your 1 rep max, only IF you're an experienced lifter. I did say lower rep ranges, and I fully agree if you're preparing for competition, it should usually be 1-3 reps. But most people don't have nearly good enough technique to work effectively in the 1-3 rep range. So they are too heavy to learn good technique. The average person can get GREAT gains doing 4-8 reps with a heavyish load and good technique. This comes not just from research data, but also over 14 years of watching the average lifter.
