They should fire the bus drivers

In Hawaii people were asked to vacate the wheelchair space so my son could ride. And the driver would tie down his chair. We are visiting London in June 2024. I hope the situation has improved. I will be able to help him. At least he won't face it alone.

I do feel sympathy for disabled passengers,but what the general public doesn't realise is that many timetables are worked out by management that don't know what they are doing. If the drivers run late, they are chastised by the very people who created the problem. I had a regular passenger who had mobility issues and took forever to get aboard. I inquired with my manager to find out if there was any other means to transport the lady because i was concerned about her safety, he said no. I then said what should i do if she was hurt trying to get aboard. He told me to call for an ambulance and carry on with the service. To say that i was gobsmacked is an understatement. !!!

The best way to solve the issues as they lie now is to adopt the Equality Act 2010 as it is written at the relevant sections. This will speed up adaptation of stations much quicker, as these stations will be closed to all passengers. The law states that if a service is available to an able bodied person but not a disabled person, it must be modified so that it is accessible to all. While the service is not available to those in the protected characteristics list, it must also not be available to those who are not in the list. Hence the term Equality.

Difficult to step onto train with my rollator because platforms are too high and often there is a gap into the rails between the train and platform -easily fal Whereas tube train are level next the platform but curve around does have gap easily break your legs. It was correct he should NOT have been awarded money. Disabled people have rights and I can understand his frustration, but he had a video on RUclips where the driver told him he had a bad back and he turned up to Edinburgh station, making arrangements with someone else who didn't pass any info to a station duty manager and talked to him so shockingly I'm glad service was denied. Abled or Disabled, for good passenger service you be nice! On buses, just because the driver drives the bus, doesn't mean anyone will listen and the driver probably will get abuse from these passengers who block the aisle so it's not easy enforcing the wheelchair space.

I'm sure part of the problem is every teenager & her brother pushing the blue bell when there's no wheelchair on board. This then habituates the driver to ignoring it, since they constantly get misused. A driver might see a wheelchair user once or twice in a week, & be dismissing that alarm multiple times an hour.

My mum had to to us a Wheelchair when she went out drivers used to say ramp not working until I pointed out the ramp worked when we got on

I feel like it may that nonhandicapped passengers push the disabled button becuase it's the closes to them even though they shouldn't. Just the other month, I was on the newer buses, and a lady was just leaning on the button, and it kept going off!

Transport for All - it's 2022 and there is still no change in Bus Drivers' attitude towards disabled, old, pregnant, unwell e.g. suffers with chronic pain, incapacitated or anyone who requires accessible access, in fact, they're worse than before some drivers will pretend to lower the platform then watch you struggle to get on and off the bus. They're just narcissistic and cruel!! They enjoy watching passengers struggle to get on and off a bus. In spite of this narcissistic behaviour I have witnessed sone excellent bus drivers who are a credit to TfL but unfortunately they are only few.

Are those new trains all open inside, from end to end? If so then they're absolutely NOT "fully inclusive", absolutely NOT as it means there will be no absolutely ESSENTIAL QUIET carriage which folk disabled like ME NEED! We DON'T all use wheelchairs! What about those like ME who NEED QUIET segregation for crying out loud?! What absolutely THOUGHTLESS design! And what do they mean by so-called "clever" design? How can it be if there's no quiet segregation? WHY are folk like ME never consulted, or even considered when these totally EXclusive and downright DISCRIMINATORY things are designed. I'm absolutely SICK and TIRED of it, HIDDEN disabilities MATTER! How on EARTH are folk like me supposed to travel in those wretched things, eh?! Why hasn't anyone thought of that? It's blatant IGNORANCE! Disability is NOT all about wheelchairs!

Needless to say, just like with all the other disability "rights" groups there's absolutely NO MENTION whatsoever of anyone disabled like ME anywhere on this video, once again it seems to be all about those with white sticks and wheelchairs, and those who can "fit in" and be part of a "community" which we're all expected to be, well far too many expect far too MUCH! What about those like me who CANNOT just casually and conveniently fit in?! What are disabled folk like ME with multiple severe LIFE RUINING hidden disorders supposed to do? WHO speaks for THEM?! What about severe misophonia and severe HEAT intolerance? They are disabilities too!

Transport for ALL means exactly that, for ALL, i.e. NOT just for the normal crowd and those who use white sticks and wheelchairs. For the umpteen billionth time, disability is NOT all "white sticks and wheelchairs" for crying OUT LOUD! AND fair availability of public transport is NOT all about physical access, it's also about what happens to some severely disabled people once they're onboard, and we don't all live in london, the country doesn't end at watford. What about those seriously disabled like me who CANNOT work OR drive and cannot support a car and therefore NEED public transport but who are all too often EXcluded to the MAXIMUM because of totally THOUGHTLESS designs like all open trains with absolutely NO QUIET segregation which folk like me who suffer APPALLINGLY with far more severe misophonia NEED in quiet compartments, NOT all open from end to end. Why are people like me never even consulted or even considered when these totally discriminatory designs are dreamt up? It's right out of order. HIDDEN disabilities MATTER, especially those which utterly DESTROY entire LIVES!

All doug does is constantly complain, moan and create situations that play with peoples jobs. Not 1 video on his channel has anything positive about it. His channel makes out every time he travels people are deliberately unhelpful to the disabled. Get a grip doug things must go right occasionally so when they do then share these videos!

Bus drivers some are rude and not helpful , though London Underground is less accessible they are much more helpful

Stapleton has an attitude problem! 50+ complaints? Has he got nothing better to do? Having worked in this industry I know managers will very quickly get fed up with him and do nothing. The majority of disabled people just go with the flow and accept what they can and can’t do. You can’t expect to be able to get on every bus first time. There might even be another disable person on it! Is he going to want them to get off so he can get on?

Why is Paulley moving his feet and legs if he’s disabled? I’ve heard a few rumours on this issue that would suggest he can walk a bit. Now I’m not saying I would never offer a disable person some assistance where reasonably possible, but I find his attitude to others (like the mother with a sleeping baby) seriously lacking in understanding and compassion. All his videos have “Comments are disable for this video” so no-one can comment on them. He’s obviously done this because he knows damn well he’ll get a lot of bad and negative comments. With regards to his trip to Hebden Bridge; why did he not simply: 1. Get a bus from Mytholmroyd to Hebden Bridge instead of waiting for a non-existent taxi? 2. Wouldn’t it have been better to meet with his friends at Mytholmroyd and go with them back to Hebden Bridge? They could then help him if needs be. 3. On returning to Leeds why did his so-called friends leave him on Hebden Bridge station in the dark? If he’d been there all night in the cold he’d have probably died from hypothermia! I could go on for hours about disability this and disability that, but at the end of the day Paulley needs to understand it’s just how life is. The world doesn’t revolve around him, and it’s not a question of discrimination.

If this idiot in the wheelchair was a bus driver he would've done the same. The bus driver does not ignore the idiot, but it is because this job is so fucking repetitive that the disabled bell buzzer will not register in the bus drivers mind 70% of the time. The bus driver has to focus on the road and they do not think about your damned bell. Imagine having to repeatedly open the door, close the door and drive off; of course shit like this is bound to happen. Reporting the driver will not fix this you stupid man! I wish all bus drivers can resign so this asshole in the wheelchair can see how far he can go without bus drivers. All this sad man does with his life is get on buses and secretly records the bus driver just so he can report them, just have a look at his RUclips channel- band3kfsh. What a creep! Why can't he do something good like give a comendation to drivers who let him on and get him to his destination? Noooo he wants to record and see bus drivers punished this is how sad his life is. There is an LBC discussion about this subject dated 30th August 2018. Darren Adam presented it and some of the stories, well, if less able individuals (male and female) feel let down, so are the companies. Companies are no better.

I am blocking hypnostream for being ugly towards people with disabilities. No use in trying to lie about it. Any driver who pulls such crap that is pro discriminatory on any of the transit systems here in the U.S. gets terminated.

I don't see the problem. Just ring the bell or say "Next stop, please!". When the bus stops, politely ask the driver to lower the ramp if he hasn't done so already.

I personally don't like the NBFL.
