    And this is the problem when watching the highlights. This game was all close till last 3 or 4 mins. Cherry picking what the poster wants to show in his agenda. Like the first dum comment here, Pistons Locked up Kobe who in this game alone scored 20. For the series he got 22 as a second option. Clearly uneducated people are all here hahahaha! Le frod was the primary option of Cavs in 07 and he averaged 22 a game as well. And Shaq in this series he got 26 a game, and 14 pts as the primary option why don't you call that a locked. Up. What every one failed to see because of course everyone here didn't watched the full NBA finals series in 04, Pistons gets away with a lot of non calls. Sure they got a better roster. They got 2 listed all stars and 2 disguise in Rip and Sheed. Lakers big 4? That's a joke. Karl at 40 not an all star nor Gary. So enough with that Kobe dicredeting Narrative. But what's still amazing is how the hell the Pistons gets away to play 70s-2000s defense againts the Lakers while the Lakers are only allowed to play 2023 defense againts the Pistons? Tikii tak fouls againta the Lakers are off the charts. It's seen here, Kobe drive againts 3 Pistons bumped him in the air he fell down, refs choke with their whistles. That's kind of series Shaq and Kobe Got. In game 3 alone, there were like 8-22 possesions for Shaq and Kobe alone that either they were hack, bumped a lot and no calls. Wonder what Stern was up to beack then.

      you make some good points but this was the physical era of defense in the nba...of course there was gonna be some non calls...that's how they played it then...detroit was the better overall team.

    • @ekhampton6136
      @ekhampton6136 8 месяцев назад

      also the reason lebron averaged only 22 as the primary option was because he was constantly trippled team and they took away the paint from lebron. kobe was taking wild shot after wild shot...he made some missed most. that's why he only avg 22.

  • @likenem

    I dont think Detroit gets enough credit for exploiting the Shaq and Kobe beef. They let Ben Wallace Guard Shaq one on one because they new the lakers would feed Shaq the ball and it would piss off Kobe.

    • @ethankinnunen4839

      They also tried keeping the ball away from Kobe and sent double teams when he did get it. Kobe had to work for most of his points, especially compared to Shaq.

    This team moved fast. Fast break and their offense was fast. All 5 guys can run the floor fast and were all fit. 4 them were good shooters. They all got to touch the ball evenly. There was no ego. They all played good defense. 4 guys spaced the floor well. They set picks for eachother and created alot of switching and clogged the defense with picks and traffics

      Well, in game 1, Kobe shot 10-27 (Shaq was 13-16) and game 3 Kobe was 4-13. Maybe he would've helped himself had he gotten the ball to Shaq more rather than hoisting up terrible shots over 2 defenders. Saying Kobe had no help and blaming everyone else is maybe the worst take I've heard by anybody on this series.

    This was the first playoff game I ever sat down and watched. I was a little kid at the time and I was concerned with playing with my toys more than watching sports on TV. My parents had this game on and we’re watching but a family friend of ours visited and they went outside to chat. So I decided to go into the room where the TV was because I enjoyed having that room to myself and I watched the rest of the 2nd half. When I saw Chauncey Billups hit that half court game tying shot I shot up from the couch and started running around screaming my head off because it was such an awesome shot and I had never seen anything like that before. This game, and the entire Pistons playoff run in 2004 is a huge reason why I grew up loving the game of basketball.

      Reading this is kind of crazy. This was also my first NBA game. I stopped playing video games, happened to see it on, and decided to watch it. I remember running up stairs to tell my parents my parents each time it went to overtime. And I'm pretty sure I watched every game of that playoff that year. Had the Tayshaun block as my desktop background for a couple years. Still love this team.
