"GREEN DEMON" - BMW Café Racer Build Time Lapse
Turn up the resolution during the cinematic!!!
The bike is a 1990 BMW K75s with 42k original miles. This is my first attempt at building a café racer. It is by no means show-build quality and was never intended to be. This time-lapse does not hide the failures. You will notice a few clips of my dad and I attempting to model a seat cowl and upholster a seat. After prolonged effort, I decided to order a cowl from the UK and visit a local upholstery shop. Eventually, with the right tools at my disposal, I 'd like to weld, fabricate, and upholster everything on my own. For now you have the SCREAMIN DEMON!

Good to see that the engine was still in place. What did you do with the forks? Great job 👍
hi, beautiful, congratulations. where did you get the seat?
S2000❤
Hello Zach, I saw your K75 conversion project. Great job. I plan to convert a Honda CB Sevenfity into a Cafe Racer soon. I would like to use the same great green color. Could you send me the RAL code of the color
Hey there! Thank you. Good luck with the project. I’m interested in doing a CB project myself when I get the time, awesome bikes. Unfortunately I don’t have a code for the paint but the name is “lime rock green” made by Chevrolet. I hope that gets you in the right direction.
@@zachstevenson5112 Hi Zach, found the Code for the Paint, it is G7J-136X. I will ask a friend of mine who is a painter. He can help me with G7J-136X safely. Another question. Why did you choose the K75 and not the K100 for your project? Were there technical reasons for this?. Best regards, Bernd
Very beuautiful bike. Some just paint it black and call it a day but you made a unike bike with very cool looks
Thank you. I appreciate it!
Love this bike .nice job
Thank you!
@@zachstevenson5112 makes me think about buying one .
Where did you get that gauge?
It’s from Acewell!
カッコよくカスタムできましたね 仲間とワイワイやるのはとても楽しそうです cool!
Thank you!
Them rides 🔥
This is absolutely epic, what a wonderful motorbike !😮
Thank you!
What a nice sound
Great job man! and awesome project result! congrats
Thanks man. I appreciate it!
Cool build! Looks alot better
Thank you!
how can I get that bike in India ? I'm loving it
Thank you! I’m sure an old K75 is sitting somewhere in India waiting for you to bring it back to life.
What headlight size do you have?
It’s a 7 inch headlight from SKTYANTS
What headlight size do you rock?
A 7” from SKTYANTS
This bike is sooooo 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
was it hard to wire the new speedo I see your using an original wiring harness.
I had trouble doing it myself which is why my dad and neighbor are seen playing with it in the video, but I am also about as amateur as it gets when it comes to anything electrical. If you have any history of wiring, it’s really not a hard job. Keep in mind that I ordered that acewell speedo with the plug and play option which already came pre wired to a BEP module. That’s how it’s able to connect into the original wiring harness without making a new one. If you have any more questions shoot them my way and I’ll help the best I can.
@@zachstevenson5112 ok I got a question :) what rear shock did you put on the bike?
What good is it to be a brick if you can't fly and be free?
Франкинштейн !
worthless
Nuh uh
Yes, lose the “music”, it was a good video till I heard that nonsense
Noted. I’ve been experimenting with a raw audio video of a ride but have been struggling to find a decent mic that doesn’t clip. The audio in the video above is pretty bad hence the music.
@@zachstevenson5112 get a zoom h1 and put it in a backpack and surround it with microfibre in a pocket. when you record cam and portable mic clap loudly 3 times (you'll need this later to sync easily). mute the video and use the audio from the zoom h1 and your sound will be clean. also nice bike! you have any info on this and how you chopped it up??
Broseph! This is absolutely amazing 👏 🎉❤
Thank you brother!
Great looking bike and what a journey. I'm looking to do something similar with my eldest son. How long did it take you from start to finish?
Thank you! I can’t recommend it enough. At the time of the project I was attending college and would only get to work on it with my Dad every other weekend or so. With that, it took us about a year to complete but if you had the means to work on it more often and had all the parts picked out you could easily complete it in a summer. Best of luck on the journey!
I love your build! Great job and good looking bike! Well done mate 👍 I'm trying something similar with an XV and I'd love to know where you got your seat cowl from? I'm UK based and looking for the same, but can't find it all. Would you mind sharing a link to the seller? Thanks!
Thank you! I got the cowl from cafe4racer. This link may work: cafe4racer.eu/en/108-seats-bmw-k-series# It looks like the exact cowl design I purchased is currently sold out but they do have a lot of great other options that are similar.
looks really good only thing i would do is the exhaust in an angle
Thank you! And I agree that would look nice.
Great Bike, but stupid Rider! (Never without Gear)
can u sit 2 on this build?
Probably not on this seat cowl because the section that can be removed only reveals a “half” of a seat. However, you could definitely find a similar but slightly larger cowl that would do the trick!
@@zachstevenson5112 i see, i really like the seat, could u send me the link of where u bought it?
K75 is a great bike. Triples rule the roost when it comes to usable power for a given displacement
Agreed!
Man, this project is impressive! Congrats for the project and it is really emotional to have your dad involved. I hope one day have my kids and they share the same passion for bikes with me! Congrats bro!
Thanks man, I really appreciate that.
I found a 1986 bmw k75c in the woods, abandoned, got the bill of sale from the 9th owner for free (thr 10th never registered it and abandoned it) ive fully didmantled what was left of the bike and im waiting for a bit of money to rebuild it into a cafe racer.
Awesome find. Best of luck to you on the build!
Nailed it 👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
What a Cool build!!! Never Part with it!!!
Thank you so much! 🫡
If you soak your pipe wrap in water before putting it on, it tightens as it dries and stays tights.
Thank you for the tip!
Si acum care dintre masinile astea sint americane???
Umm, yes.
KICK ASS!!!!!!
Hell yeah! Thanks man!
Yo rad bike! I am looking into building one myself. What investment price would you average I would need to budget to get a similar build to yours?
Thank you! The bike itself was $1,900 + paperwork fees (tax, insurance, registration) and then with parts and paint and everything else i’d say a safe budget is around $4.5-5k. Granted, I had to pay some friends to do some welding and had the painting done at a shop so if you have the means to do those yourself you could get it down more. Regardless, I’d say that’s pretty cheap for a reliable K-bike customized the way you want it! I hope you are able to build one the way you like. Best of luck.
Really nice build. Just looks super uncomfortable🤪 like any other cafe style bikes.
Thanks man! And yeah it was a sacrifice I was willing to make haha.
@@zachstevenson5112 i always wanted to do something like that but never have spare time or money. So i just ride stock bikes i have. Plus i lack artistic imagination so design aspect is always hard But i enjoy riding anything with 2 wheels.
I understand. One thing that might help is trying to break the project up into sections rather than seeing it as a X months job that requires $X,XXX’s of dollars to complete. Other than the frame work/paint and wiring, most of an amateur cafe build can be done one night at a time with the ability to ride the bike each day. And don’t sweat the artistic part. Everyone is going to have their taste and opinions but all that matters is that you love it. I won’t deny that it takes spare time and money to build a cafe bike but stretching it out into a few hours on weekends is certainly feasible.
BRAVO LES GARS, C'EST DU BEAU BOULOT! 👍
Thank you!
This is awesome. I found a 1985 K75 just a few miles away from me...Might have to try something similar.
Thank you! And go for it! With a little maintenance the engines are bulletproof.
That is stunning, wat an amazing build ❤❤
Thank you!
when I see these videos I always think, what a crimeeeee such a beauty!
I can’t tell if this is a compliment or insult but thank you!
Your work is awesome but the bike is originally awesome as it is. Maybe a project to restore it as is
Thanks man. I respect your opinion.
Nice bike....What seat is that? Please
Thanks man. You can find it on the cafe4racer site. It’s under the bmw k bike tab and is considered a seat and half
Really nice, love the paint colour🎉
Thank you!
@@zachstevenson5112 do some more please 🥇
I’m hoping to soon!
This design won my heart you won my respect sir please never ever sell this one

Hey man you have a link/name for the front blinkers? Super cool, never seen that before!
Hey man, thank you! The front blinkers are from eagle lights. If you just search eagle lights fork turn signals you will find them! Heyy Zack! Watching this from across the world (Uzbekistan), was thinking of making myself one of these, came across your video, and saying that I was AMAZED would be an understatement. You're very talented, loved it! Now I'm searching for a motorcycle myself for making a cafe racer, was very inspiring, thank you!
Hey there! Thank you so much. Very cool to see my little video made it to someone on the other side of the planet. I’m really happy to hear I could encourage you to pursue your own cafe. Best of luck to you! Remember to enjoy the process.
