    Reverse launching in a tail wind is pretty impressive.

      not if you pack it properly and not detach the harness, He also sees the glider while reverse launching.

    Wow, only two minutes to set up and launch; THAT"S IMPRESSIVE! I wonder how long it's going to take him to realize all of the dangerous safety trade offs that he's accepting by flying an inflatable wing?

    one could probably use this technique, but take a moment to ensure the rods are lined up and flat, and be done in, say, 3 mins. still pretty sharp.

  • @sandrainthesky1011
    @sandrainthesky1011 2 года назад

    Impressive!! How did he get the risers the right way around? Must be some secret only the X-perts know!

    • @hannesmueller05
      @hannesmueller05 2 года назад

      the wing stays connected with the harness, so the risers have no possibility to turn, thats my guess

    • @marilsonmichel
      @marilsonmichel 2 года назад

      Risers has different colours, that’s why they know, also they are the ones who pack it, so they know how the wings is!

    • @freshnelly
      @freshnelly 2 года назад

      @@hannesmueller05 Ah OK I see that now, duh! I don't leave it attached but have tried attaching risers and leaving them a certain way but sometimes they are turned 360 twist when I pull up, cheers!

    • @patrickswitzer628
      @patrickswitzer628 2 года назад

      @@freshnelly if you watch the video where he packs up quickly, you'll see how he routes the risers out the side of the folded harness. That keeps the harness from "flipping a somersault" between the risers as you pack, avoiding the dreaded twisted riser situation. The other type of line twist, the kind that is fixed simply by rotating your body passing the lines overhead, is avoided by packing/unpacking in a precise sequence, in the same direction each time so that you don't introduce twists.

    Geez RUclips is creepy. I just sat down to look up "concertina packing" on here to get my wing shipped/inspected, and this was already at the top of my homepage. Welp I'll be done in like 30mins 😅

  • @stevecrye
    @stevecrye 2 года назад

    This only works with a wing that does not have rods that must be carefully aligned. But still amazing!

    • @mcbrite
      @mcbrite 2 года назад

      Depends... If you are carefully packing it to store for a long time: Yes... But if, like in video/h&f competition, you pack the wing just to carry it a few hours, I doubt there are many wings delicate enough for it to be a problem... And certainly even less wings designed especially for hike and fly, if any....

    He doesn't give a fuck about the nitinol rods!!!😂😂😂 Only those guys can do that! They receive a new wings every 3 months...

    • @mcbrite
      @mcbrite 2 года назад

      Not true... Anybody can do that... Their resilience is literally the main point of nitinol rods...

    • @michahermann7869
      @michahermann7869 2 года назад

      Nitinol rods spring back perfectly as long as the bending radius stays above 1cm. Which is pretty much always the case, even when you pack them a bit messy. So it's more a matter of lower packing volume and having your wing lay down a bit neater when preparing for takeoff (due to more evenly distributed folds in the fabric)
