@@oceanparkpictures2332 its only a theory. Hemmings never liked MP; that is a fact. My theory arises from when you see two waves of MP from his heat (in the movie Fluid Drive), both are very good waves. The wave in this RUclips video is the highlight wave of both Fluid Drive and Super Session from this contest. Its hard to imagine how MP never made it through his first round six man heat, apart from Hemmings knocking him out. The winner of this contest was Ian Cairns. While Ian's surfing was simply amazing (visible in the movie Fluid Drive), for the next to years, Ian, MR & Shaun Tomson would win most of the contests in Hawaii. Hemmings loved these guys because they did not take drugs. Hemmings despised MP. MP represented everything Hemmings was against.
