Seiko SSK003 Sapphire Crystal Swap - NO MORE CYCLOPS!
An easy day on the bench today! A quick sapphire crystal swap to replace the OEM Seiko Hardlex. Personal preference, but I am not a fan of the cyclops over the date window. You never see one when the date is in any other position. However, I will admit that I have difficulty reading the date without one!

Hello, my watch originally came with an NH05b movement that includes a date function, but it stopped working. I bought a new NH05b movement as a replacement, but I noticed that the date wheel on the new movement is smaller and doesn’t match the original. Since the new movement's date wheel doesn't fit, is it possible to remove the smaller date wheel from the new movement and replace it with the larger original date wheel from the old movement?
From the research I did, it looks like you should be ok. It seems they did change the part number though

When you have the crystal in your hand it is obvious which way

The Seiko 5 I revamped has a nice two tone silver and gold dial with a guilloche pattern on it (7S36 02J0)
Also, Seiko’s lume is called Lumibrite
Well my package arrived today and I couldn’t be more pleased than I am with this one. I love the whole package. The dial is subtle but beautiful. That bezel insert is kicking. Who knows, maybe I’ll get you to broach the dial and put a NH34 in it with a GMT hand. But for now, I’m just going to enjoy this beauty. Thank you my friend. And thank you for all the other updates and repairs on the other 3.
You can't use a NH34 movement with a NH36 dial, even if you broach the dial
@@7he8aka check the RUclipss. Numerous videos demonstrating how to do it. The central hole just has to be expanded to 2.9mm from 2.1mm.

I was referring to using plastic in their movements when they upgraded the power reserve.

Most of the time you are ok with the bezel, it's the insert that might get in the way

That bezel reminded me of my Canopy Wake One with the carbon fiber. I also would've missed that pattern if you wouldn't have shown it.
I've never seen a texture like this on a Seiko 5, only on the higher models
