Hi, I never knew horses wear boots. Are there back boots?

I find these boots very cumbersome to put on, especially getting the ends tucked under the rubber keepers when they are stuck to velcro. Grrrr. Plus in every Renegade video I've watched, including this one, the demonstrator is sitting right in front of the horse's leg. I guess if you are a thousand percent sure your horse isn't going to suddenly pickup his foot (which would result in him hitting you hard on the head with his knee), great. But my horse might do that, so I have to always be to the side, making it even harder. I also don't like the fact that when you roll the captivator back prior to putting the boot on the horse, the flat bottom of the boot catches on the foam of the captivator, even when you're really careful, which can tear the foam. Functionally these boots are great but they are a giant PIA to get on and also to adjust. Looking for an alternative.

What does she say at 1:48 if the heel captivator is too low, horse can "break, brace " their heel ?! Sorry, not my mother tongue...

Thanks for this great review and comparison! Very helpful! For this season, I have to give my Morgan mare (barefoot her whole 18 years) a bit more protection as we've been doing more. We dabble in Eventing and do Hunter Paces. I need something that will stay ON and be ok jumping and cantering and going through water. Tough Bill!

Hi, thank you for the video, I'd like to see some more! Little ignorant question: what's the point in putting them only on the fore hooves? Why not in the rear ones?

+Shinzuihitsu you can definitely use them on the back too :) At this point in time we had these two mares shod at the back purely for practical reasons. Our preference is to have them barefoot and booted for training/ competing on all fours. You can find out more about us and how we use the boots by following us at facebook.com/blakesheaven
