I used to want nothing to do with speaking in tongues as I thought it was weird but am convinced otherwise now after reading Dave Roberson’s book ‘The walk of the spirit the walk of power’. Tongues are the key to the supernatural! I believe this but I’ve prayed many times for it but don’t feel anything. I know you don’t go by feelings but by faith but I heard someone say once that when you get the baptism of the HS it’s like being hit by a truck and you’ll be in no doubt that you have received it. You have a beautiful testimony: I would like to share mine. Hope it ok? I was born and raised in New Holstein, WI in a very good home. But deep inside of me there was an aching and hunger for more of God. When I was 17 I was shown in the Bible that “Ye must be born again”. I was told to say a “sinners prayer” I sincerely repented and cried rivers of heartfelt genuine tears. I was told I was “born again” But after a while I experienced feelings of the frustration and guilt of not being able to live for God. I could not seem to grow in God like the Bible talked about and continued to revert back to a sinful lifestyle. I felt utterly defeated Bc I could not stay faithful to God, His Word or His commandments. 2 years later I walked into an Apostolic Church and just like Cornelius in Acts 10 and Apollos in Acts 18 I needed to be shown a more perfect and excellent way: The Gospel is the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ: (I Corinthians 15: 1-4). I learned to rightly divide the word of truth: The 4 Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John witness Jesus’ earthly ministry: He healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out demons and performed many miracles. In John 3, Nicodemus came to Jesus. They talked ABOUT being born again (JOHN 3:3-5 Except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven) but no one was ACTUALLY born again in the 4 gospels bc they were still under the law so it was not possible to be born again yet bc Jesus had not yet been glorified (John 7:37-39). This is why the thief on the cross was able to be in paradise. But after Calvary is when the dispensation of grace/Church age began. In order for a New Will and Testament to go into effect the testator (Jesus) had to die. It isn’t until the day of Pentecost, in Acts that we witness people actually BEING born of the water by being baptized by immersion ONLY in the name of Jesus and BEING filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:14-41, Acts 8:37-38, Acts 10:47-48) tells me I was not obeying the command to be buried with him in the waters of baptism and I had not received the Holy Ghost so thus was not resurrected to walk in newness of life. Therefore, could not live a victorious Christian life. It wasn’t until I was 19 that I was truly transformed and had the most amazing born again experience ever! I was born of the water as I went down in JESUS NAME (biblically not one person was baptized in Father, Son and Holy Ghost.) And I was born of the Spirit when I came up out of the water speaking in tongues! By having the faith to believe that the blood of Jesus is applied to our hearts through repentance, baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38) is the only way we are able to be redeemed to God after Adam and Eve sinned.

Your praying in tongues made the spirits I've been fasting for deliverance from, manifest..Clicking in my ears and Pressure.chnages in my sinuses and down into my neck and shoulders...I repented of something this morning and I almost threw up....I have dribbles of Holy Spirit but not enough to be led on the Spirit consistently..Even what I have experienced is enough to strength my faith and propel me forward in Christ (when I came to Him I didn't fully believe but wanted to about 13 months ago....But I know God timing is perfect. He is in control and when it's meant to happen it will 🙏 Praise the Lord!!! I'm coming out of the wilderness and denying myself has been the biggest thing (I think) that has made my walk as fast as it is... Father, I pray that I receive the full in dwelling of Holy Spirit and prayer language! in the name of Jesus Christ 🙏 Amen

I must not be saved or baptized by the right person because I still haven’t heard from the Holy Spirit or received the gift of tongues and I also rebuked the bad spirits trying to get into me through temptation. I don’t fall into the action of sin but still no tongues 😢

The gifts of the Spirit are given individually (as He wills) and not the same to everyone, so seeing tongues as the only way of knowing you received the Spirit is deceptive. Read 1 Cor 12:4-11

Yessss. It was a good day. And I had the impression I needed hands laid on me to receive it. It was late at night I was by myself listening to worship music and then a tingling feeling of like intense love. It’s hard to describe but it started in my head and I start pouring out speaking in tounges and the feeling went alll through my body from fingers to chest down my legs and as I was speaking in tounges I just thought what in the world is going on and I fell to the floor praising God giving thanks and and weeping the feeling came in these amazing waves. I felt as if Jesus was in the room with me I even had to look up to see. I didn’t see anything. But I had eventually got up and sat back down on the couch and I heard “you just have to love me” man it was so amazing. He’s so faithful later on it came upon this verse which I feel confirmed what had happened. James 1:12 12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. Jesus is real and alive guys and it’s the most amazing thing ever

Hi sister i was baptized a few months ago with speaking and singing in tongues but i am struggling to overcome the devil i want to have joy and peace and i have anxiety and fear how did u get deliverance?

I believe that one hinderance to recieving the Holy Spirit is a denial that speaking in tongues is the first sign given that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit. These scriptures prove that it is the only sign given( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19). Once prayed for and filled with the Holy Spirit, we must surrender the only member of our body we can't tame, which is our tongue( James 3:8). After i prayed for and was filled with the Holy Spirit, i simply opened my mouth and started relaxing my tongue as a way of surrendering it to the Holy Spirit After a few seconds, i became aware of the Holy Spirit seizing ( taming) control of my tongue and i began to fluently speak in tongues.

I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit a few years ago, however I feel like I’m just saying the same phrases over and over. I’ve been praying and believing for a more fluent prayer language.

This is an incorrect use of these scriptures. Often misunderstood. There is not a 2nd baptism of the holy spirit. The Bible says we receive all that we need for. Life and Godliness at salvation including the Holy Spirit. John baptised with water because the new covenant didn't exist yet. After Jesus was resurrected then people would receive the Holy Spirit after salvation. And please research SOZO. Its New age Mysticism. And tongues is not a heavenly language. Tongues are "other languages" given as a gift if needed to minister to people of other cultures. God bless all that search for truth.
