Exploring Chicago’s most underrated Gem in the Southland which is Crete Illinois on Dixie Hwy
Crete is a village in Will County, Illinois, United States. It is a far south suburb of Chicago, 30 miles from the Loop and only 6 miles from the Indiana border. The population was 8,465 at the 2020 census. Originally named Wood's Corner, it was founded in 1836 by Vermonters Dyantha and Willard Wood. Plenty of nice stores and restaurants around Dixie Highway (Illinois Route 1) in Crete Illinois Will County.

Me and my wife took our pictures on our 1 year marriage at this location when we got married last year. I love the classic Home Alone 1.

@@ChicagolandDestinations There are some vacancies, but what makes this mall different is we still have plenty of good brands open. The mall is in the planning and permitting phase of the redevelopment which will be expanding the mall with luxury outdoor shopping in part of the current parking lot.
