    Nice! Just curious how that paint held up after five years. I'm thinking about putting diamond plate on my workbench bench top.

    • @Pops-wl3iy
      @Pops-wl3iy 6 месяцев назад

      If you are using as a workbench i would use something more durable than the cheap paint that i had , but it has held up pretty well except the paint had faded a little from the sun

    Check your connections, you shouldn’t be able to wiggle the battery terminals at all and they should be clean and without corrosion. Also check your battery volts. 12.6 indicates a fully charged battery, anything less than 12 needs charged with 10 or so amps

    One of the best ways to learn is trying things out :) As the other commentator has said, Evaporust doesn't work like that. I have done something like this though when working on a metal shed. I mixed some Evaporust and Aquasteel together and painted the steel with the mixture. The result is not as good at getting rid of rust but it does clear some and convert the rest.

  • @matthewshambler2644
    @matthewshambler2644 Год назад

    Evaporust doesn’t work that way, for this type of application it needs to be applied then covered with paper towel soaked in the liquid then covered with cling film to keep it wet against the rusty surface for 12 hours or more.. I’ve used it this way and the results were acceptable- far better if possible to immerse the rusty piece in the liquid. Thanks for sharing though, hope this helps.

    Pretty neat socket rails. I like the idea of having the sizes labeled on the rails, since it is often hard to see the markings on the sockets themselves.

    How has the home-mod performed on a real bearing job? Home Depot may have a 3/4 in barrel nut which would be stronger than one of the plain nuts you used. I made up something like this over 15 years ago with a 12 in piece of 3/4 in thread rod and some steel pipe fittings to replace front control arm bushings.

    @mrgrumpy5116 3 года назад

    you're going from a fine thread to corse you will need a lot of grease on that thread and it's only mild steel don't expect it to be better you need engineering grade.

    • @canuckfixit7722
      @canuckfixit7722 2 года назад

      Correct but the original bolt supplied with the kit isn't Grade 8 either so its worth a shot, especially if the hack is made up with cheap hardware store supplies.

    I am looking at a van that has an issue to where the rear ceiling vents do not have any air flowing out of them... But the rear fan is blowing and hot air is coming out of a floor vent near the blower fan motor... But not out of the ones on the ceiling!?!? Could it just be a plastic pipe or tube or something that should run to the vents maybe being disconnected or something?
