You can certainly include PMI in your feature template that will become part of the larger set of PMI of the target part. We don't have plans to add 2D drawings of specific features to the target part. Does that make sense?

Great question. How to define "center of a face" would be my main question. If a UV (0.5,0.5) is sufficient, then you could certainly include an Algorithmic Feature in your Feature Template that can pick up this location (and perhaps drive the rotation vector) to create some attachment geometry on which to hang other content in your Feature Template. That's the first method that come to mind... but as usual with NX, there are often five or six ways to skin the proverbial cat. :-) Does that help?

This is currently designed for using Feature Templates within Product Templates in a relatively static way... We've not designed this for dynamically pulling in Feature Templates and automatically modifying the Product Template UI. You can of course add more Feature Templates and access them directly via the Part Navigator... I'm thinking that if the number of Feature Templates gets very large, then adding all of them to the Product Template UI automatically may start getting clumsy rather quickly. But it's an interesting idea. Thanks!

In my experience, learning different CAD systems is quite analogous to learning a different language like English or Spanish or Japanese. It takes a bit of time and practice and discussion with experienced "speakers/users" of the language to learn how to express ideas in concise and beautiful ways. NX is a very, VERY rich "language" for expressing shape and engineering design intent. Fortunately there is a wealth of resources online (including RUclips) for starting to learn. You could start by checking out the "Noteworthy NX Channels" I list at the bottom of my channel. I wish you all the best as you learn to speak this new language!

The short answer is YES. In Template Studio Author, check out the "Smart Initialization" options. For a given Expression input, you can have NX look at the destination assembly for a specific Expression, Part Attribute, or Routing Attribute, and automatically link it up on instantiation. Check that out, and please let me know if that works for you! (And yeah... this is probably a great topic for a new video.) :-D

These snap points appeared in a toolbar in NX 12... In more recent versions of NX these appear in a floating drop-down menu at the top of the graphics area. I hope that helps!

2D profiles can be stored in the Reuse Library and reused inside sketches (See Reusable Objects). That's the closest thing I can think of there... Once you have created your sketch, you can certainly include it in a Feature Template for quick reuse. Great question!

If I understand your question correctly, it sounds like you're wanting to add an image to your dialog? You can use the "Label" widget in Template Studio Author to do this. I think you're asking about the Pattern Circle Diameter? In newer versions of NX (starting with NX 2406) you could directly measure the pattern circle diameter using three points. In older versions, creating a circle using three points first, and then measuring the circle would likely be the fastest way. Does that help?

On the Teamcenter side, you'll first link the Requirements to the NX Item Revision. With this link in place, NX will find the Requirements when you open the part in NX, and automatically display them in the Requirements Validation tool in NX. You can then create the checkers in NX that relate the specific measurement expression to the requirement. Does that make sense?

Great question! Most of the parameter entry widgets have the ability to add limits (upper and/or lower) to each input. If one of these limits is exceeded, the OK and APPLY buttons will automatically be disabled, and warning messages about the out-of-range inputs will be displayed. Does that make sense?

The mass of the body is generally an *output* from a body, rather than an input, so getting from a mass input to an appropriate "size" is going to either involve: 1) a quick expression calculation (if the shape is canonical and we can easily invert the volume equation) 2) a set of pre-determined known values (like the first half of this video), or 3) an iterative approach to "finding" the right size that produces the desired mass. For this non-canonical shape, I used the third method in the second half of this video. As described, starting at about 1:55 in the video, I have a small optimization (Goal Seek, really) iterating on a size parameter to find the size that produces the desired mass. The "how to" details are in the last third of this video. Does that make sense?

In the "Actions" group on the Parameter Tables dialog, you can use the "New Table from File" option to start a new table using an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file. The easiest way to understand the required format is to manually create a small Parameter Table and export it. (MB3 on the name of the Parameter Table after you've created it, and choose "Export".) Does that help?

Interesting question! We don't have the ability to directly specify alternate assembly constraints, but if the different mounting positions were spaced along a similar direction, you could certainly have one of the assembly constraints be a Distance constraint that could vary based on the selected component (and thus in your example, modify the position the swapped component into slot A or B based on a different distance value.) I suppose this could work for angular constraints as well, now that I think about it. Again, thanks for an interesting question!

You may be looking at the Pattern Feature dialog in the "Less" state. Look for a tiny arrow pointing downward at the bottom center of the dialog, just above the OK, APPLY, and CANCEL buttons. This should expand the dialog downward and reveal some extra options for you. Alternately, the "gear" icon in the upper left corner of the dialog should similarly have a "Pattern Feature (More)" option that will similarly reveal more options. Does that help?
