JACK PIMENTEI JUST RIPPED ME OFF FOR ALL HIS HOUSE REPAIRS THEN TRIED TO STEEL MY GUITAR THEN ASSAULTED ME.
Todd was my cousin. He will be very much missed! Awesome drummer and an awesome dude!! Thanks for this video! I smiled the entire time.
Are you still using the Model 24 a year later? If so, any thoughts about using it along the way , good or bad ?
I am. It's fantastic. I think I'm going to buy a second one for use in live situations outside my house. There's been a few gigs over the years that I wish I had recorded, I wish I had this unit years ago.
Is it my imagination, or, given a number of seconds on a held note... the note seems to clean up as it trails off. Anyway it sure sounds good.
That's not your imagination. We designed it to have better Dynamics than the original.
🤟🤟😻
Bummer
DAMN!!!!! MISS YOU GUYS!!! AND THE MO!!!!!
Sounds great.
Anyone have the recipe for the Shrimp Burrito? I cannot go the rest of my life without ever having it again!!!
I wish. It was a sad day when they closed.
I live in WA now, but if you still live in SD, apparently there is a place called Serrano’s on Mission Ave in Escondido.... the burritos look similar.... check it out and get back to me.
I have not yet had the pleasure of playing through one of these "Barracuda" flangers. I can maybe help anyone wanting to capture the "Barracuda" sound from it though, based on my own experience as the tech who built the first flanger that Roger Fisher used, and later built them for Howard and Nancy. They were line level devices based on the Matshusita/Panasonic MN3001 analog delay chip - long out of production. In order to interface the flanger with Roger's Marshall JMP 100W MV amp, I had to install an effects loop in his amp. This was in 1978 and amps did not come with an efects loop option yet. If you look at the reissue of these amps you will find an effects loop using a TL072 IC in a divide by 10 configuration for the send and a x10 gain on the return. This is exactly what I did to Roger's amp in '78. (Imagine my surprise when I opened a reissue 20 years later...) This puts the flanger after the Master Volume and the preamp distortion, which intensifies the flanger sound. So my recommendation is to run a light to moderate overdrive pedal before the flanger. The Regeneration control was not in the original flanger, Roger asked me, in late 1978, if there was some way to intensify the sound of his flanger for live performance. On a break between legs of the 1978/79 Dog and Butterfly tour I spent some time in my basement lab and came up with a circuit that worked. That sound was not heard on record (as far as I know) until Heart released a song called "Sleep Alone. On the intro of that song Howard drones an open E string and lets the flanger do its thing at a very slow rate. I am rather proud to have been a part of that. I also built a flanger for Nancy around 1983, and another for Howard around 1984. I sincerely hope Toadworks/Ten Pedals captured the sound of that rack mount (not pedal) flanger. I offered Line 6 a chance to model it for one of their early chorus modeler pedals but they never responded to my email. The later flangers I built from 1979 on had three switches on a remote pedal. Flange On-Off, Regeneration and Manual Sweep. The Regen and Man Sweep switches had their own front panel pots to preset the effect. Roger would sometimes use the Manual Sweep as a stationary tonal effect. Listen to the intro of "Cook With Fire" and you can hear it there. As this is the only commercial flanger claiming to capture the "Barracuda" sound, and let's not forget one of Roger's other flanged masterpieces, Mistral Wind, you can be assured that you are buying a copy of a piece of history. But, hey, that's about the best you can ask for some 45 years after the fact.
PLEEEEASE reach out to them again!!!!
Hi, nice work! Do you remember what speaker was in it?
if I recall correctly, it was a Jensen, either a P12Q or a P12P.
Bad ass!
🤭 *promosm*
I'm just finishing a build like this and do they ever sound good. You did a phenomenal job both in the build and the demo. Thanks for sharing.
thanks!
Classic tune. Haven't this since BT. Stay safe
Cool, explain this test.. did you have your band play live, and then this is just a playback from SD Card?
Also, sounds great; love the Guitar Tone here.
Nah, I got everything plugged in, then I just sat down at the drums and hit record, then I played it back while I recorded the bass track (pbass into the markbass, then direct to the board), then I added the piano and keys, then I played a lead track over all three sections.... that all too about half an hour, and that's about the time my wife was walking upstairs and I said come here a minute, just sing over this for a sec, so she put the laundry down and sang a take and then went back to the laundry :) so, the playback you're hearing is straight off the SD card. A couple days later I had my drummer come over and recorded live drums and guitar, just to see how much bleed-through there would be, having everything miked up so close together, but there really wasn't much at all. the overhead condenser on the drums picked up the guitar a tiny bit, but the guitar mic didn't really pick up the drums at all. Honestly I LOVE this board. I'm gonna buy another for live use.
I was mostly just trying to get all the input gain, eq, etc dialed in for when we DO have the band over.
@@justiniangoldrif Thank you! like I said there is VERY little EQ, you're basically hearing everything more or less raw. The inputs on this board are fantastic. The guitar sound is an amp I knocked together from parts I had laying around... basically it's a tweed Fender Super 2x10 circuit, I built it 6 or 7 years ago. The OD on the lead track is a ToadWorks Leo Jr., and the chrousey sound on the rhythm track is a TEN Effects Barracuda
@@virtualtoad This sounds great, thanks for all the feedback, just ordered one. :)
sounds great!
No thoughts ?
I'm looking for an amp that has nice cleans and can do some nice crunch for a Ric 330 guitar. Everyone recommends Vox AC30 or Princeton Reverbs, but this Ampeg sounds great. I can see a set of toaster pickups jangling thru this box.
Get a Princeton 65 reissue before a Vox. Had both and no compassion Princeton was better
I just played one of these at GC, going used for $600 it sounded killer!!
Talent from Chewelah WA?
Sounds like the Ventures, nice playing brother
I was told this is one of the best amplifiers to put gain into and it naturally has a beautiful clean sound I was absolutely impressed when I put my pedal into it with some gain, the sound had unbelievable power and RAWNESS I could feel, even better than any Marshall...
Your tone and playing is NICE!
Ya Forest!! Great job on the recording too, sounds great
That sounds great! How on earth did you fit everything in there with 5c5 transformers? Are you using solid state rectification? I built a 5c5 in a deluxe chassis, but want to try this in a champ also...
Yeah, I had to use a couple diodes for a solid-state rectifier, and I actually had to cut peace out of the speaker basket in order to get the Transformers in there. Transformers I used are rated lower then what would normally come stock on that amplifier, it was just a size issue. This is only an 8in speaker, so it's just barely loud enough to gig with... However, if I unplug the speaker and put it into a 2 by 12 cabinet, it will knock your socks off.
Ryan Dunn That’s awesome! I never thought of cutting a speaker basket. Thank you for replying back. I fit an Emi 10” 1028k in my tweed champ cabinet with a 5881, and it’s a close call with the bigger 15watt output transformer that I have in there.
Hi Ryan, the hippie days and Doo rags are so over.
Thanks a lot, now I can reevaluate every decision I've ever made using this new information.
My, my...what an insightful and courageous statement Mikey boy. I bet you made all 2 of your subscribers proud with that one.
Rude...
Very nice show.
is that a music stand I see?
Love you guys!!!!
Love it. Great sound, great singer, great lead guitar, tight band overall.
I've watched this series three times now. I just rewatched this episode and laughed my ass off. I don't think ever caught it before. So glad it's on RUclips.
This is gold. Where was this?
It was at the friend of a friend's house. I just got a call one night about seven years ago, in the middle of winter... buddy of mine said come over to this address, a few select guys are getting together to jam. So I showed up, it was all a bunch of guys I played with on a regular basis, and some guy named Myles Kennedy. I had no idea who he was lol. Good guitar player.
Hey man amazing work sounds awesome. What's the watts of these old transformers?
Thanks for the share, friend! ♥️ I’ve missed this song, better get it back in rotation!
Took almost 7 years but here's the first comment. Love to know more about how this happened and where it was.
Not user friendly at all

I finally got my Barracuda flanger V3, after years of wanting one, but never getting around to it. I feel like I own a piece of history now. Well worth the $$$ for the quality, range, versatility, and tone. It's byfar my favorite pedal effect since getting it.
This is one pedal that is on my radar to have. Great sound, great work.
Hope you are enjoying the Mira bro, ... you're gonna want that Mesa Boogie ; ) it's an F-50
LOVE it... I'm gonna spend a little time with it tonight, and it's going to make it's debut at my regular Sunday night gig.
My good biker friend Barry owned one of these and a 1961 S.G that he used to let me play at his house every weekend when he'd host a jam. We had so much fun in those days and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to blast away on that amp/guitar combo. Instant early Clapton tone and ACDC at the drop of a hat. Yeah buddy.
FANTASTIC sounding amp! Any idea about how much these guys weigh? Looking at getting one to take to and from rehearsals.
Cody Foster not a great deal, maybe about 35lbs. Singlehandedly the best amp I've ever heard
I have the R12R reissue Reverberocket. Hands down the best thing I have ever played through. They run an average of $450 to $700 depending on age (vintage versus reissue). All I know, they're a lot less than their Fender counterparts and sound better, in my opinion. I've owned a USA made '90s Fender Blues Junior and loathed how it colored every guitar I ran through it. The Ampeg is subtle. It is lush and shines through with tone. It's a damn shame they stopped producing these amps. They are worth checking out. May break your back lifting the damn thing but at least it won't break the bank buying one.
2:22. Was awesome!
Sounding Great!
I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!!!....this app is not very good...you give a statement and Tina responds with jibberish....
Why did Serrano's super salsa have to close?!?! Forever?!?!
