A true warrior serves a king, for something that is greater than himself. He never would simply fights for the rare satisfaction of his ego. He fights for those he loves, he fulfills a higher purpose that serves the world, never only for recoginition of others. He does that and by that he defines the greatest version of himself. A warrior can fight for himself and because of that with and for others. That is the difference. He is still an individuum who has transcended in a greater cause. What you speak of is neediness, fighting for the recognition of others, someone who is exactly NOT able to fight for a common cause, with and for a team. The person you talk of are the ones no one wants in his team, because they have not reached a level of maleness, which goes beyond the childish little boy, trying to please others and to get what he thinks he must have. A warrior can be a soldier, but a soldier can never be a warrior. In all the armies of the world. A group of true warriors will always defeat a "group" of soldiers.

More distinctly, the warrior fights for personal, self-interested reasons; whereas the soldier is defined by duty & service to some cause outside the self. The warrior desires glory, wealth & the joy of battle. He looks forward to the spoils of war. The soldier simply desires a successful mission so that he can return home to his family & keep his nation stable.

@@KingYama74 Sure there will always be conflict but to base your actions and ideology on conflict is just stupid. Also who do you think defends the country you live in? Not warriors but soldiers, a little gratitude for that is in order.

Pretty much. Soldiers fight to live, warriors live to fight. Another big difference is that the warrior has his/her own code and motivations for conflict. They're individualistic and elite. The soldier is a professional, and can fight as armies the size of millions, the warrior.. not so much. In war, numbers and coordination matter, and ironically the soldier is better suited.

There are other things in life than just war buddy

I would say discipline matters a lot. Warriors like the ones who fought the Roman's in the classical Era across Europe were not disciplined. Soldiers are disciplined. Military training is the main difference I guess

I think war for a soldier its more like a duty, not necessarely a job since that sound more like a mercenary, but i agree war be a lifestyle for the warrior.
