    Damn ken great video. That cnc looks good in your shop. The idea of people commenting against cncs is stupid. If you don’t have one and can do it another way that’s amazing cool. You have a tool just like they have their tools. Anyway you got a nice butt. K bye

    • @beardedmoosewoodworking
      @beardedmoosewoodworking 11 месяцев назад

      I think people have went too far with the CNC usage in a lot of ways. I've seen some operations done on them that would be way faster or easier on "traditional" equipment. But this process is something a CNC is perfect for.

    The only reliable way to get clean consistent holes. If you have a kreg jig or a milescraft throw them in the trash. Personally I use the Dewalt compact router with the TSO adapter plate. By the LR 32 plate separately save a lot of money.

    • @beardedmoosewoodworking
      @beardedmoosewoodworking 11 месяцев назад

      I’ve used the other jigs and I think they’re fine. This is easier pre assembly. But if you really want to make it easy, you have a CNC do it

      The blade is basically flexed .002 inches which is nothing. This is perfect basically. If your blade isn’t square, you’d have to read your manual to see how to adjust your saw. Most saws you adjust your top to get it square to the blade and motor

    • @pauljarrell8162
      @pauljarrell8162 Год назад

      Oh ok with the song I wasn’t sure if it was super bad or not. I know I’ve had a blade off like that but it was noticeable just by looking at it. So with this flex, it pretty much wouldn’t matter at all

    10:20 To connect the two tracks together, put the Makita track saw on the rail with one of the thumb screws (part #76) centered at the seam of the two tracks. Tighten the thumb screws (part #76) so the two rails align, then tighten the grub screws on the guide rail connector kit to lock in the alignment. Loosen the thumb screws (part #76) to so the saw can glide freely without play and test the smoothness of the fit by sliding the saw across the seam. If the seam catches the saw, the alignment is no good repeat the set up again until the saw slides smoothly across the seam. (This technique uses the saw's two adjustable guide holders (part #75) to align the rails by locking the holders tightly to the rail (making it straight) before tightening the grub screws on the rail connector kit. By centering the holder at the seam of the two tracks allows the holder to smooth out the discontinuity at the seams when it expands.)

    Great review of the TSO products! I finally bought the connector set after initially thinking they were over-priced. They work so well that now I think they’re a bargain. I also have the TSO square (original version) and I went through the same thing of thinking it was over-priced as well. I actually found someone selling his locally and did get it for a great price but after owning it I’d definitely pay full price for them and still think they’re a bargain. I also found my microjig dovetail clamps to work perfectly for a rail clamp. These are definitely a set of add ons that make a track saw more versatile and precise.

    • @beardedmoosewoodworking
      @beardedmoosewoodworking Год назад

      I switched for two main reasons. 1. I was seeing some blade deflection with the makita that was causing issues if I was cutting something that would land on a joint. 2. I have festool dust collection and the switch made it more efficient for me to swap tools (plug it cord and the hose). I had absolutely 0 issues with the makita tracks and festool saw

    Thanks for sharing your experience with the TSO products. I've got the Makita tracksaw and, like you, I really struggled with the rubbish connector. For a start, there are no instructions on how to use it. I had to visit the 'university of RUclips' to find some kind soul who could point me in the right direction. And, yes, it's not straight, and it doesn't even hold the rails together very well once you've made a few cuts and had to repeatedly reposition the track. I now tape the tracks together as well. I already own the other TSO rail square - fantastic - and, after watching your video, thought I'd spring for the connectors. But, OMG,£79 Sterling plus shipping!!! Really? That's more than the cost of one rail, and £40 shy of two. I guess I'll just stick with the tape.
