Our walk from breakfast to our room in beautiful Jamaica
What was the overall weather in November. Did you experience any winds and rain?
I believe it only rained once while we were there, for about an hour. It was tropical, I live in Florida, and was in just shorts and flip flops all day
Rddddddddddfddddddeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Hi how did you find it getting sun beds, and booking/getting into restaurants Thanks Jonathan
Restaurants were never an issue, good spots by the pools are mostly gone by 8am though. Claim your chairs, send your partner to get breakfast to go, that way you get seats and still get to eat lol
Hi would you say it’s a good location And not to loud on an evening, or would you have stayed in the Royal side?
Both sides were about the same, Royal had more activity at night. Overall it was on the quiet side for Sandals.
Arriving tomorrow , 16th of December . This was a great video that really showed the resort . Question: looks like you had a lot of cloud overcast. How was the week for weather and sun ?
It rained 3 or 4 times throughout the week, but it never lasted long. It was sunny most of the time, temps around 85°, with a "feels like temp" in the low 90's.
@@johngillespie1032 that’s great news then . Better than I thought in Terms of weather . Hope I get the same .
This was a true masterpiece!!!! I truly felt like I was on vacation at sandals barbados and loved the continuing soundtrack as well as the commentary!!! The found fillm footage/documentary style of filming really encampsures the unique view of the director. Can't wait to see it in the next cannes festival.
I believe this building survived the great fire or was rebuilt from it?
It was rebuilt, the fire occurred a few days after the grand opening.
As elegant and beautiful as ever💋💋
One cook named Leo, claimed he was formerly employed at the Palmer House in Chicago. No offense to Leo, but after many of his meals, we quietly questioned to ourselves what his duties were there. Our second cook, a Louisianan called Rabbit
Was only the lobby remodeled?
Remodel is still in progress, lobby is done though.
@@johngillespie1032 ok thanks for the update
Great tour!! We'll be there May 2020! First time at a Sandals resort. Appreciate your video very much
@13:09.... I've stated at Hilton Garden Inns or Hampton Inns where the rooms were more fancy, decorative and luxurious than this here...
I agree, I didn't have a great stay, but was there for a conference. It's a historic building, I thought it would be a fun video. I'd never stay there again though. They charge for everything; WiFi, coffee pot, etc. And the entire property was inundated with homeless as soon as the sun went down.
We went to Sandals Inn in Jamaica when we were in our early 20s and we never tipped... just because the travel agent told us not to. Next time we go I'm bringing a stack of tip money
Employees will get in trouble if caught accepting tips. If you can do it discreetly, it is appreciated very much.
Thanks for the video! We went in October of 2016 and we're going back October of 2019, so this definitely helps!
Great walk thru video. Almost as good as being there. Love the zoom in on the bar offerings! Also includes two jet fly overs at 22:10 and 26:20... not that bad. Thanks for posting.
I'm not sure if you've ever been to this resort, but the fly overs you get used to in about a day and the cool part is, the whole staff tells you to wave and say 'Bye' at them because they're leaving and you're in paradise. It's a lot of fun! Have a good one!
@@ctru22 Just got back 3 days ago and I totally agree with you. The fly overs are just part of the charm of the resort. I especially like the evening ones after dark when the jet tail is lit up and you see it from the beach; looks like the jet is just appearing out of a building. Ready to go back!
Excellent video thank you for posting this!
All ways a good time at the piano bar! cant wait to get back in September! thanks for sharing
We stayed there and just left there day before the video was taken
Is this the new Sandals? I stayed in Montego Bay Sandals three years ago and I hated it. Wouldn't stay there again.
This is Montego Bay, which is the original Sandals.
@@johngillespie1032 I stayed there one Christmas and I had a bad time. How was your stay? Maybe things have changed! The one I heard is nice, is the one a few blocks away that you'll or have visited. The one down at the bottom road is also older and yet to be desired! There's a new one just been built about few months ago. That one I will probably give a try. Enjoy and be safe!!
@@oooooo-kr4ep I've stayed at other Sandals before also. Montego Bay didn't have the best service compared to others, but overall we had a great trip.
@@johngillespie1032 which resort was your favorite? We have been thinking about this resort, but looking for a good experience! Thanks in advance!
@@jacquelinegentry2510 we had a great time, Montego Bay is the original Sandals. If you've been to Sandals before, it's cool to see where it all started. It is near the airport, and can be a little loud sometimes but it wasn't anything to ruin the trip. The staff wave goodbye to the planes as they go over the resort.
Hello. How would you rate the walking at this resort as we will be travelling with an elderly person? I mean is everything quite a distance from your room? We’ve always gone to a smaller resort in Jamaica in Ochos Rios ( same one several times). Thanks in advance.
The resort is fairly large, but most restaurants are near each other. There are also wheelchairs available with tires made for the sand.
What level room did you have. Thanks for Sharing...
I don't remember what it was called, I believe it was 2 steps up from the cheapest rooms available
Thank you so very much for posting this. My close family member died here and I can't bring myself to go here in person.
