Hi Mark I dug an old amp out which I had in storage..only to find its the SA 8100.. Im also having the same issues as Kareen.. Unit won't come out of protection... When I first turned the unit on after de-dusting the inside it turned on and protection switched off... Unfortunately when i tried the unit again protection light wont turn off... Also be most grateful if you can shed any light on this problem... Enjoyed your vid.. I just love old school hifi gear. Kind regards Anthony

Hi Mark I just dug out an old amp from storage and its the SA 8100 ..cleaned it all inside tested it and I'm getting the protection light not turning off... First time I switched it on it turned off ... Any suggestions on the fix... Would be most grateful.. Many thanks Anthony

Hi Mark Mine won't come out of protection. Actually it does go in and out protection for a few seconds, and some other times it just won't come out of protection at all. Any pointers ? Stuff i should troubleshoot first ? I have some knowledge but nowhere near yours in electronics. Thanks.

I have been looking the xx-8100 series videos over for some time now trying to get an idea of the scale of restoration and what others have been doing to these amps and tuners and also looking for a qualified technician for my project. Thank you for posting your video; outstanding job restoring this unit. This series always punched well above their weight.

I have this amp as well as the SX8100 tuner. If you only input from tape, or turntable what more does a person need?

Looks very clean! I'm about to do the same to a unit I just picked up. Same issue, won't come out of protection. Do you have a list of components or a BOM somewhere that you used for this project?

he didnt have to pass him, just be ahead of him at the line on the last lap...which he did on some of the laps...thats racing

whoever made the least mistakes was going to win, that fits my definition of racing.

It was not a race. Two drivers were going side by side for endless laps flat out, pedal to the metal. Meira had no chance to pass, he was stuck on the outside lane, with the IRL high downforce aero package there is no chance for real racing, drafting, dicing.

Nice finish, even when it was MEira, not Mira.

This race was definitely intense to be at. I almost forgot how good it was. This year's race at Kansas was much less exciting than in previous years though. Did you guys hear that this race has now moved to April, I think because it was so DAMN hot in July? How did Vitor not win? Was the clip the radio commentary over the video? I know that tv coverage is usually a bit lack luster.
