As a kid I used to think the media companies had huge data racks full of all their content they have made throughout the years backed up and saved. When I first started to learn about lost media and just how much of seemingly important media is lost it blew my mind. Also, I will never forgive Nintendo for what they did with Mario 35! Amazing video as always!

I am fairly sure the generally accepted definition of Lost Media is just about if it is accessible to the Public. Mario Bros 35 has found itself on the high seas and still has at least WiP fanservers last time I checked, so it is not lost. Something like the Megaman Legends 3 Demo game is tho because we literally have it confirmed that it actually exists in a playable state, but it was cancelled on the very same day it was supposed to release so nobody has it.(I love you too, Capcom. It is very fitting what the word "cap" morphed into meaning over time) 8:00 Considering that the nature of Gaiden as an OOT add-on was most likely very short lived and many even claim that it was always its own game, this section probably should have been about Ura Zelda instead. Which btw, is actually kind of a crazy story. I recall that at some point, there was an official claim that they never actually worked on Ura Zelda at all because they were too busy with other projects, but a leak from a few years ago proved that to be a lie as the files confirm that it was actually a good ways into development before being cancelled. Some of its leftover assets then being reworked and recycled into Majora's Mask and the later Master Quest(Which is itself called "Ura" in the original japanese for fanservice). People then used the leaked files to actually revive the expansion and it is now playable! It may not be 100% finished, but it is finally not Lost Media anymore, many years after people originally made peace with the idea that it was never even made. 11:05 Lol, I straight up didn't know. That's hilarious, the game flopped so hard that they rather make it become Lost Media than to risk someone making a fanserver. Hopefully some G decided to keep the physical copy rather than return it, and will make it accessible in 2040 just to make us laugh at it again. 12:04 Another thing that is being brought back.(Well, minus the original audio, not much we can do about that. Hopefully someone will be willing to rerecord the game-relevant dialogue in japanese, people already started recreating it in languages that the thing never originally had. Like english.)

I have something to confess... I never played Super Mario 35, but massive agreement in the disagreement for just removing it. It’s an overall odd choice (then again, this is also Nintendo we’re talking about; smart choices are still on the questionable for them). Also, the animations in your video are simple and charming. I absolutely love this little box of nostalgia! Before NSO really got good with it's game library, the NES classic was my go to for playing most of these games. One of my favorite things about this mini console is the menu music, which was then carried to the SNES mini but with a 16 bit remix which I think is really neat. Great video! Can't wait for part 2.
