Modify WD 40 Trigger Pro to Refill

Modify WD-40 Trigger Pro to be able to refill
I might add some JB Weld Plastic Epoxy on the threads of the anchor. To take the strain off the hinge screws, I always use the stainless wire stays and install them so the lid doesn’t quite open enough to bear on the hinge stops.
Oh boy pal, thanks for that. I was about to throw mine out. I’ve my trigger pro, what a wasted opportunity for WD40 to do the right thing.
Good idea!!!!
Is it still working 5 years later? I have gone through about 5 commercial spray bottles and if they sit for more than a week or so the nozzle clogs and won't work.
Yes, still working for my guys in the shop. The squeeze trigger is about to break due to being dropped many times, but for the savings we made using this and buying 1 gallon jugs, kept some $ in the bank, no arisols in the air and no trash in the landfils. Win, win, win, in my opinion.
@@shopjay8291 Good sht, thanks! I am getting so sick of everything always starting out as a short life consumable- we all must continue to hack the 1% club's throw away and replace economy. You probably already know, but 5 gallon or 1 gallon CRC Chlorinated Brakleen works great with Sure Shot Pressure Sprayers. If gou don't know you will LOVE IT!
Commercial spray bottles are good, but in professional manufacturing, all liquids not in their original container are required to be labeled with manufacturer and SDS information. Even with a good/industrial label maker, they rarely stay on for very long. Then you're left with unidentified liquids in generic applicators.
Awesome...going to modify mine now. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks a BUNCH!~
Would you be interested in making me one? Ideally the delrin would be the same diameter as my handheld torch where it mounts in the vblock which is .9615" in diameter.
Worked pretty good... wouldn't have thought of this on my own... thanks Jay!
Man that looks awesome, I love the hammer down noise
what CNC control software are you using? Did you have to write a macro to get the marker function to work right?
I use torchmate cnc controller with a customer table/motors I built. Inside the software I can make a second tool and create a "tool offset". So I can run one tool path that marks first. Then run a second designed to cut. Not sure if this helps much.
Very well done. I have a one gallon can of WD-40 given to me. After WD-40 Trigger Pro was used up, I was unable to fill it. But, Thanks to you, I am refilled and happy about it.
You da man! Thanks brother! Subbed!
Easily the best video on this. I broke the top off trying to do another method and unsure whether I can fix it, but this method seems 1000x better! Much thanks my dude!!
Great job and advice. Thanks for sharing.
Just did this to fix my Coleman, thanks for the tip!
Fan-fracking-tastic! 😃👍
Excellent vid thanks
Thank you, Jay. This is useful. I bought this product thinking it would take a refill. I was a little disappointed when it came in the mail. I was bothered more by the inconsiderate design more than anything. But a little ingenuity took care of this.
Meanwhile... you can buy a Gallon of PB Blaster with a threaded metal spray bottle. Why WD40 did this tamper resistant top is beyond my genius intellect
It's probably some sort of safety hazard for people to be refilling their container that isn't "tested" to be refillable...
Thank you Jay i was afraid i was about to break the thing. Now i can procede with confidence
thanks for the good info ,
Exactly the video I was looking for, thank you man!
A faster way is shown here. ruclips.net/video/k66lRi3AQQc/видео.html
I used the plastic refillable ones but they get so dam dirt. So I started bying the trigger pro. I was pissed when I found out u couldn’t refill. Thanks for your video.
Great Idea!! I can't believe how Chicken Shit WD40 marketing is these days, when I bought one of these I thought it was refillable, what a disappointment..no longer Thanks!
I bought it thinking the same thing. Thanks...
Worked great!
Thanks Dude! I was going to drill a hole in the can - you saved me.
Good vid. Good info.
Or dremel cut-off wheel. That worked for me. Thanks for posting!!
you can pop the whole thing out of the can and not deal with the threads at all.
How? Just twist it sideways? I'm worried the plastic would snap if I just torque on it's top
Thanks, Jay, this is very useful! Stupid to make a refillable product non-refillable. They could solve this if they had even an ounce of desire.
Always hated these types of caps you can't unscrew because of safety laws. I say let the dumbass kids drink it, filter out some of the stupidity in the gene pool.
Thank you very much for sharing this information as I’m sure many people out there, including myself probably bought t this style of can so we could refill it when buying the gallon size of wd40. You have saved us all a lot of time, frustration, and money, much respect!!
wlongmore Im happy to be able to help...
you can pop the whole spray mech out of the can, then fill it and pop the spray mech back in. it is just a flexible plastic barb that holds it in the can.
