I'm a 54 yr old Minneapolis kid lived here since 1977 and Prince and Chris Cornell are my two favorite musicians and ooh I wish people outside of Minneapolis could see my memories. I snuck onto the set of Purple Rain in 83, went to high school with his brother Omarr and his future drummer Michael Bland and one of my closest friends is on that stage playing guitar Miko Weaver to this day. I'm truly blessed because mom in 1975 moved to Minneapolis and that's my reality. Oh man I could tell stories of growing up in Uptown. There will never be another incredibly over talented musician than Prince. Love and miss you brother

Fun fact: it was not the concert of Metallica, but more like a festival concept where more bands play at the same day on the same stage. Metallica wasn't even the headliner, AC/DC was. There is also footage of AC/DC playing on the same stage, but because it was dark in the evening, the crowd doesn't seem that big and that's why the videos of Metallica went viral instead of the ones from AC/DC 😁 Btw all these people have seen a foreign band or listened to a foreign music for the first time in their lives.

They do put on an energetic performance, but what impresses me more than Ms. Turner's age + high heels is the fact she kept bringing this much energy to something she'd done a million times. Other artists might have been tempted to say "nope, done that too many times." She is a consummate professional. A lot of women took her finally shaking Ike off as inspirational.

What do performers do these days? That show skills? I am asking you as a serious question. Obviously they have learned digital and electronic mastering and how to "auto tune, enhance, etc." their voices and create music that isn't actually played by a real person. I guess that is also some type of a skill. I'm old lol.

Klown, It is interesting that you say the performance/dancing/singing is "so simple..." And that it isn't done anymore. Have you considered that there were no earbuds/previously recorded music tracks that the performer would merely sing along with etc? And just how "simple" do you think that choreography was to get everyone on that damn stage in sync ...not just for this song.. but every song in the concert? I would LOVE for you to show me someone these days who actually can put on a performance with their OWN live skills.. rather than using digital gimmicks. If you think THIS is simple? I was so fortunate to have seen a great show of her live , back in 2000. She is something else. She retired from touring at the age of 70 and she certainly performed Proud Mary even at that age, still doing most of the moves while dancing ( which is extraordinary enough); but letting the most danding to the dancers, who are logically half her age or even less. In this video Tina is 54, and the dancers are naturally half-her-age, that means about 26. They sweat their way through very professionally, as well as the top musicians. But they don't have to sing the whole show like Tina does so well.

This was in 1997, go back to them doing it live in 1982 and see the ultimate intensity of failed relationships.

This band is legendary with many, many hits There is also a bunch of drama with marriages and break ups inside the band. Some of their songs reflect this drama. Saw this tour when I was 11. It was all I wanted for Christmas 😂 I saw the Revolution twice in concert after he died…it was like a big music memorial/family reunion….He should still be here. I was so broken I had to turn to heavy metal in order to heal…and now I’m obsessed with Metallica…and HP Lovecraft 😂😂😂

I've seen her live four or five times, from 1985 to the 90's, and "Proud Mary" was always a highlight of her shows! She had such a presence, an incredible energy and WHAT A VOICE!! Thanks a lot and rest in peace, Tina!

She was born in 1939, so she's 54 here. But her solo career started very late. If you you want to know more about this legend, find a biopic of hers with Angela Basset from 1993 called "What's Love Got to Do With It". An incredible story. By the end of 90's she retired. However (if you watch her last HBO documentary, you'll learn how it happened) she went in 2000 on a European tour, when she was 60... And from that tour you have the entire concert from Wembley. Finally, I was so f*** lucky to catch her 9 years later, when she (for real this time) had a farewell world tour at the age of 69/70 (just type in Amsterdam 2009). Thanks for the reaction. P. S. When someone says there's no one like Tina, you'll see what they're referring to after you watch the movie. And it's not a pathetic, sad story. It's rough, but it's the epitome of strength and perseverance.

This was 2007. Prince is nearing 50 years old. He’s dealing with hip pain issues. The years of splits and jumping on and off things are behind him. He still dances and brings the X factor to his shows but in a different way. As you see in this performance he was still magic. A superb musician, singer, performer. A superstar 🎉

Maybe the energy is the difference between 1984 and 2007.
