People often tell me they struggle to get their steering wheel off. The trick is to pull with one hand while you push with the other, then do the opposite a few times. This steering wheel had been on for 30 years and came off easily.

Spoiler alert, it went through MOT with no advisories. Rear subframe rust off the radar. All thanks the Lanoguard and a bit I preparation. Next up, I’ll be doing a Mk1 MR2 front bumper bar.

From what I understand, the original owner sold it. The next owner split up with his girlfriend and the car was left at her house. The MOT expired and it was sold to someone who just dumped it in a wet field for spares for his other 2 SC MR2s.
neil jones a sad end for it. I hope you at least managed to save a few decent parts from it in the end.
Yes, the engine and gearbox has gone to another MR2 owner, but all the bodywork was completely shot.

That's one sweet garden on the engine lid. One could start some organic farming with this car. What a sad sight. Imagine what it would cost to restore this. I think I see a twobrutal.co.uk sticker, and some aftermarket stuff under the hood. Seems like it was a sweet car once. At least the parts that are still usable will help other mr2s stay on the street.
+driving 4 answers (mr2 mk1 hero) Yes, twobrutal.co.uk sticker. The engine conversion alone cost £2200 ! It was very sad to see it rotting away. The body is now completely shot, but I will save all the mechanicals and whatever else I can.
save some of them. don't break any more than half of them.
+cascroft2011gaming Tens of thousands have been scrapped without saving any parts. I only get ones that are too far gone to be restored, and i save every part that can be used again to keep other MR2s on the road. I do this as a passion, not for the money :0)
Just wanted to post that I've ordered parts a few times from Neil and he's a very helpful gentleman... Items always arrived as he described... very cool guy... for those of us who have MK1 were very lucky to have him...
