Hi Guys, I'm a electronic/gadget freak. I love technology and I don't like to spend a fortune to own it :) - I will try to post as much as I can videos about new technology and hacks. I love tech and gadget...and probably you do too! Enjoy
Unlocked 4G LTE Wireless Router 300Mbps Wifi Router with sim card
It's more than a year that I'm looking for a decent Modem with SIM card, in Europe it's a normal reliable thing to do, but in USA we are not there yet.

Bose SA3, Volume Control with Potentiometer
Просмотров 40 тыс.7 лет назад
This tutorial will explain how to connect a Chromecast Audio to your old Bose SA3 Amplifier and make the most out it! I hope you enjoy! Link to Potentiometer: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017LB2YCM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Mine strange is working fine tried 2 sim but not working on my third sim... Dont know
does it matter what resistance potentiometer is used
Favor de mostrar el manual de conexión
Nice video, i can module the volumen now, I got a same scenario, and i have another problem, after a small (1min or less) period of time, the amplifier stops the signal to the speaker, some times i need to reboot the amp. anyone with the same problem?
the green led goes from solid to slow blink when the music stop.
Yes, you need to keep the volume of the potentiometer at half minimum and control the volume from your source (phone, app etc). In order for the Amp to receive the signal to stay on it needs a minimum input level... I hope this helps.
@@knowledgeiseverything9581 Hello, yes you're right, but I need to have the volume to high, do you know ho can I diseable that function? the manual says that B dip switch do that, but its the same
Would you happen to know of any way to detach the antennas? I got something like this from Nomad Internet, and it seems the antenna connect to your modem in the same way they connect to mine, and I wanted to install this thing on a third-party antenna system.
It doesn't not unfortunately.
I tried exactly the way you instructed and when I connect the potentiometer the speaker volume turns off. I have to disconnect the power to the amp so that it resets and the volume comes back. I cannot increase the volume or it will shut down. Is there something that I'm missing?
Technically, the Amp will not send any music out without the potentiometer connected. With the amp off, connect the potentiometer, after that turn it on. I leave my volume on then potentiometer at 50% and I handle the volume via chromecast. You will not have to touch the potentiometer manually every time... I guess if you increase the volume on the potentiometer too much it could trigger a 'protection' to shut it off.... That's all I know. I hope it helps.
And my grandma wasted 300 on this
Thank you for posting this message. I have the setup that you showed in the video. The music plays for about 3-5 minutes and then stops. I increased the volume on the Chromecast app and that triggers "something inside SA 3" and music streaming resumes. I tried various settings on the potentiometer and the results are same. Any ideas ?
I leave my potentiometer at 50% - I noticed that music needs to be a bit loud. Unfortunately if you keep it too low is not enough to trigger the 'automatic on/off ' That's all I know - I hope this help.
Chromcast's volume too...at least 3 out of 10
@@knowledgeiseverything9581 Thank you. I think it's a problem with potentiometer that I got at a local store. I will try with one you recommended on Amazon.
@@jeyaFitness has nothing to do with the potentiometer its the 500mv input it needs for the auto on off feature. it will turn off 60 seconds after not detecting 500mv
does it allow you to get free internet
What type of potentiometer did you used for this?

@@knowledgeiseverything9581 thanks.
Great video, thanks for the idea. Was wondering if you had any control of the volume on your iphone? I have several of these SA3 units in different rooms and would like to connect them to Airport devices so as to be able to airplay music via them. I just wonder if I will be able to set a 10k Pot at a reasonable volume and to the rest of the volume control via my iphone. I´m off the find a 10k pot. I also saw that you can buy a remote operated pot, also an idea es.aliexpress.com/item/1864957254.html Only thing is this means an extra remote for each room...
Thank you. Yes you can control the volume from your phone. The only down-side I found is that you can't leave the volume very quiet because it wouldn't be enough to trigger the power-on. Other than that...great solution. Awesome receiver . Enjoy!
...I leave the potentiometer at 4 of 10 and control the rest from the phone.
Thank you for this. Will not order this
You are welcome. I was very disappointed and wasted $60...
Did it help you get more bars on your phone? What do the speeds look like without the cpe router?
The idea of having the router is to be able to connect your laptop or any other device to it so you can surf the internet... I did a test with the phone to show the speed achieve with a Samsung S20 and with this model of Router. As shown this model of router doesn't work in USA...at least no with T-Mobile.
@@knowledgeiseverything9581 Over here where I’m at in Sw Louisiana, lte is so bad that we get youtube vids in 244p, with buffering at that resolution. Right now barely anyone has WiFi over here as they’re still restoring downed lines. A rough estimate for them to finish is in December and then... they’ll install service again with a huge pending list to go through. So something like this is my only option. I’ve got at&t down here for cell service
thank you sir..likes like a screw job..do any of the work
Do you know if this can work in Jamaica?
Not sure...in USA doesn't work - it's very slow!
It is worth it?
Nope!
Hi I have SA3 amplifier and any one knows how can I connect from tv I have the leads but do I need Bose link to connect?
It depends if you want to use digital or analog from your tv. You could connect your tv via analog using RCA cables to the SA3 input. You will have to install (like I show on the video) a potentiometer on the SA3. The best way for sure would be the Bose Link...
Knowledge Is Everything Thank you for the information and I installed it but nothing coming up I think is set up as a supplemental , becoz the LED on for 1 or 2 sec and few sec is off , any idea how to change that to sound mode? I have connected with my tv and I put on 100% volume but still blinking LED . Plz let me know . Thank u
What is the male connector type and is it available in the market?
Yes it is available on eBay... let me check if I can find it for you.
this is it www.ebay.com/itm/Bose-Amplifier-Speaker-Connector-Fits-Lifestyle-SA2-SA-2-SA3-SA-3-and-others/122771872417?hash=item1c95c61aa1:g:iIoAAMXQWzNSnoHI
Hello I recently bought SA3 bose alone amplifier but problem is upon switching to electric power it go to standby mode ..green LED slowly blink only. I like to setup with speakers and use alone an amplifier only . Also can I connect SA3 to any preamp ? Thanks if you reply . Cheers
Hey! I'm not an expert, but as far I understood, it automatically goes into standby if you don't play music "give an input signal" - that's why I picked it for this project...so that anytime I play music via Chromecast, automatically it turns on and automatically switches off once I'm done. ...in regards of the preamp...I guess so. Again, not an expert! Just having fun with projects.
@@knowledgeiseverything9581 ok thanks 😍⚘👍
I have the Bose Sa2. Looks like urs but without rca inputs. Can u post a video of the internals where the rca wires connect. So I can try to mod mine.
Sorry, just saw this message. Do you still need it? Did you manage to do it?
Knowledge Is Everything Can you do it with SA2 ????
@@joseluislapuente761 I never tried - if you can you will have to open the amp and find where to connect the RCA of the chrome cast. SA2 doesn't have RCA input like SA3.
Hi Sir, do you ever encounter a problem on this unit where the small LED constant slow blinking? It always in standby mode. The 10000uF, 4700uF and 1uF capacitor were bad. After changed them, unit still same in Standby Mode.
For my understanding, it stays in standby mode until it receives a signal... meaning, via RCA connector you need to play some music... in the case of Chromecast I noticed you can't keep the volume down...it always need to be half way..otherwise it goes into standby mode. I hope this helps!
This is correct it will be in stand by mode until it receva a signal from the chromecast that hits a certain threshold.
Also I think that if you flip switch C you will get true stereo (l/r) sounds but can't remember exactly
is the amp using power when volume is set to high but chromecast is turned off?
Yes -
gostei muito do video to com 02 sa3 para usar aqui me deu uma boa dica, mas consigo usar o volume com o controle do media center, já tenho o media center, deu problema
How to connect SA 2
No idea how SA2 looks like...but there is a guy here on the comment section who is modifying one.
I have a question: the volume increases by decreasing potenciometer, right?
No it turns a tv on and off
Nope.
