That’s what I had to do on my last Ford fusion which is why when I got my new Ford fusion I made two duplicates, so I would never ever have to go back to Ford and suffer through $300 for a key fob! Then go to eBay and get your blank fob, when I got mine they were about $60 with shipping

Did you lift up the rubber liner in the cup holder? It is hidden below the cup holder liner

You have to get one from the dealer unfortunately, which is why I made three copies

I don’t know what you’re doing or not doing. Do you have both key fobs and is your cupholder area clean below that mat. If the mat is dirty or sticky it may not work. Make sure that your foot is not on the brake because if it is on the brake it won’t work. Sometimes it’s natural to touch the brake and if you do it will erase what you’re doing. Make sure that both batteries are good inside both fobs. And good luck try it again

I hate to say this but you’re gonna have to go to the dealer and get another one made before you can make another one believe it or not. You can’t do it with just one

GFCI outlets will trip easily on coffee equipment that may have a weak short in the casing of the thermostat. The best way to lock down the area of a grounding out circuit or a short in the thermostat is to use an OHM meter. Unplug the machine from the outlet taken ohm meter and obviously put it on ohms of resistance then take the red lead or the black lead and touch it to the capillary tube and /or capillary bulb, and the other lead to the electrical terminals One at a time and see if you’re passing any voltage through the ohm meter. If it shows any resistance on the meter then your GFI will trip the breaker! Also if it has a keep warm heater surrounding the tank you may want to check it for ohms of resistance. I’ve seen those coffee machines plugged into a regular outlet when there is a very small resistance and still work but not on the GFI circuit of any kind. They just will not work which means you have to find out where the ground or short is coming from and if you’re plugging in the capillary tube in the water and it shorts out that GFI chances are you need to change the thermostat or check the wires going up to the thermostat and make sure they’re not grounding out against anything. There is one other thing, the heater elements themselves are probably in series with the thermostat and the element itself could have a crack in the shielding so when the thermostat sends electricity and The heater element gets voltage to it because you have put the capillary tube down into the water it turns on the element but if the element has a crack in it it will kick the GFI. The best way to check and see if it’s an element is to take an old meter and touch it to one of the two terminals of the heater element and then to the tank itself. If it’s bleeding voltage through the water you’re going to read it on the ohmmeter. And I’ve seen that happen 1000 times. A lot of times if you pull the heater element out you will see the crack in the side of the element. It’s fairly visible. You shouldn’t be able to take the element out set it on the table touch the terminal of the element with one lead and touch the side of the element with the other lead and read anything. And there is one other thing you might look at. The high limit switch is also in that circuit and could be bleeding voltage to the tank. But in this case an ohm meter is your best friend and if you check each component by disconnecting the thermostat and the heater element in the high limit thermostat in the blanket heater one of the time against the side of the tank you will find the offending item. Nothing should bleed through on an ohmmeter when it comes to water And voltage. GFIs don’t like that. Good luck

I hooked mine up to a transformer so I don’t ever have to change batteries. And mine works within an inch every time and my wife loves it. It has yet to fail when it comes to pulling in and putting you right where you need to be but you have to set it. There are instructions for setting the distance and if you don’t do that it will not work properly.

I think it may not be effective for me because my car's front bumper is curved and I can't or don't want to have to enter the garage in the same exact lateral position every time I park just to assure the sensor hitting the correct bumper point (I've set it at). I think it would be good for me if I had several feet of leeway but I have a few inches at best. The little light at the bottom of the sensor seems to come on and shine for no reason at all. There could be a couple problems. Did you get a new fob from eBay? I can’t guarantee if they’re good or not but the ones I have bought have all worked perfectly after programming. It could be the battery inside of the remote you might want to check it to make sure it’s strong enough. I’ll just send that if you follow the procedure that I mentioned and if you’ve read the other comments most other people haven’t had any issues doing this so I would suspect it’s probably Fob

My 2009 Ford fusion cost me over $180 for a spare fob. That is why when I got my 2017 Ford fusion I decided to buy several extra fobs online for about 50 bucks apiece and then program them myself. It’s a rip offFrom Ford at Best because it doesn’t take them any time to do it and if I’m paying $50 for the fob I guarantee you they’re paying a lot less so it’s almost all profit. Plus if you look at my dislikes I guarantee you they’re all for employees who don’t like that I’ve screwed up one of their cash cows

You’ll have to take it to the dealer and have it programmed without that second one. But if you do that still get a third or fourth one. I did five of them actually that was my total was five including the two I got but right now I can only find three of the five since I gave it to my wife.

@@jusgettenby and it was $350 they said they couldn't guarantee the key I bought off ebay would work and I'd still have to pay for the programming if it didn't work so I just bought a new fob and had them program it (I still have the one from ebay just collecting dust haha)

Colin Campbell I would say you may have a bad key fob from eBay. If you follow the instructions it should work I’ve done four of them I bought them all from one guy a couple years ago. But even he had a few key fobs that didn’t work or there was some other reason. There are a couple rules that you can’t forget make sure that nothing is on make sure that the doors are shut good don’t tap the brakes or anything and remember the time rules. Also You might check where the key fob fits in the cupholder, that it’s clean. Give it a couple more tries and see if it works other than that you may have a bad fob

Tony Vincent Well it doesn’t happen on the Ford fusion but I have a 2017 Ford fiesta that that happens on. I’ve learned to be very careful with that stupid key fob because it would set off the alarm and wake my neighbors

Rick Edwards it would be nice if they could at least design a key fob cover that covers up the buttons when your not using it so you aren’t constantly hitting the buttons but that would be too much work. I have a 2018 Ford Fusion hybrid that will probably get snowed in and rained at least a few times a year because of the key fob

That’s when I decided to make three more and I shit you not I have five keys to my car now!

And I guess the easiest way to look it up just type in 17 through 19 ford fusion ford edge proximity sensor and key fob in the search box and itShould come up with him

Euwing I couldn’t get it to do it you have to have both keys that’s why you do it when you first get your two sets of keys because I made the mistake of losing one paying $250 to have a new one and when I finally woke up from my strokes of hearing how much it cost I did the research and found out for $70 and even less you could make another key so I made four!

Well you can get another key made and have to but it’s going to cost you the first time at the dealership. Then you go ahead and get your third key in your fourth key made by going through eBay. When I did it because I wasn’t smart enough on my 2009 Ford fusion to duplicate it it cost me $250 or more but I learned after that and made three duplicates that cost me less than $100 for all three of them on the 2009 fusion
