it's very smart way to turn a button press into a switch. Just to make sure I get how it works: if you turn on say the taxi light on before turning on the simulator, the switch is gonna work backwards, right? like on when it's off and off when it's on? (sorry for dumb question but I'm only a beginner when it comes to electric circuitry)

Great Video. Easy to follow. a couple of things though.... Don't cut the outer cover so far back. Also, tin the wires first. and also solder the actual board as well on each contact. you will find it much easier when connecting the wires. and a lot neater.

I saw on a decorator video that to stop bleed under masking tape you apply the tape then paint a light coat the same as the background colour. This will seal up the tape so no paint bleeds through when painting black.

I would recommend to remove most of the material with a jig saw first and then use the flush trim bit to remove the rest.
