i got to drop my subframe and prop up the engine just to replace my oil pan gasket alone. in all fairness, i bought an e60 with the knowledge it would be a pain to work on

All the time it took to record this video, add texts on screen, find a song and then wait for it to upload you could have just remove the belt, bolts holding compressor as well as skid plate and you’d be removing the pan. But I see you’re on jack stands and not on a lift so you’re not that caliber of a mechanic so it makes sense now that you’d rather just complain than to just get to work 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hell do a upper oil pan gasket on a northstar v8 without removing engine, transmission, and subframe and then lets talk .

That's what I said today with the elec power steering rack in the same car. Had to remove control arms, sub frame and ac compressor. This compressor was super easy. First I've seen with no tensioner.

My oil pan has every bolt accessible except for one that's blocked by the bell housing. I know the pain.

Only thing that leaks on those 2.0 duratecs are the timing covers and rear main seal on occasion. You can even see the timing cover leak from here. The oil then wicks along the edge of the oil pan. Misdiag.

There’s a ford design that requires you to move the tranny back ONLY 2 inches to get the pan out. You go further than two inches the whole tranny has to come out

😂😂😂😂 Drop an oil pan or tranny on a 16 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. Then we'll talk. How about broken exhaust manifold studs on a Hemi 1500? Or an evaporator core on a 15 Super Duty? Replace a 1.5L Ecoboost engine on a 20 Escape? Rear A/C and heater lines and rear evaporator on Tahoes, Suburbans, and Grand Caravans (and cousins) of ALL years? Rear main seal on a Jaguar "Ford" Thunderbird 2005? Rear A/C lines and evaporator on a Ford Flex? (This one is separate from the Tahoes because you have to drop the entire rear subframe.) I could go on. I have stories. And I've only been doing this professionally for 7 years. And I also don't work on very many German cars, thank goodness. Not once did I complain on RUclips about it.

Yeah nah man I gotta lift my engine and drop my subframe to replace my oil pan or even JUST the gasket because it uses RTV sealant and not a precut. You''ll be fine.

Oh....complainers huh...how bout a STAR BOLT out of 18 8 mm trans pan...that is 1/2- 3/4 above the cross member.....in order to supposedly simply change OUR own Filter an inspect.😅
