I am a band nerd and proud ROWVA Marching Tiger mom. My son, Benjamin, was a 2022 ROWVA grad and a drum major his senior year. He played flute and dabbled in piccolo and guard weapons. My daughter Madelyn, ROWVA class of 2026, is a member of Color Guard and Winter Guard. She plays clarinet for concert band and is learning tenor saxophone for Jazz Band. I am a member of the ROWVA Music Boosters, serving as Co-President from 2022-2025, helping with Winter Guard 2024. I video as many ROWVA music events as I can.

Background: My love of marching band extends back to my own involvement in Color Guard as a Knoxville Blue Bullet, class of '91. As an instrumentalist, I played in the Knoxville school district orchestra as a cellist and string bass player, played string bass in the Knoxville Jazz Band my senior year, and also played under Bruce Polay as a member of the Knox College String Ensemble for four years, graduating from Knox College in 1995. We love music and the performing arts!
