He's not a top tier boxer for sure but he's one of the most complete fighters out there, he's dangerous everywhere and breaks his opponents with sheer pressure, combine that with insane skill progression and a granite chin and we have a future lightweight elite / champ. Also there was only one td by Frevola which he didn't even bother defending because "he didn't feel threatened ". Even if he loses to Poirier which I doubt, he'll most likely improve and come back.

I am interested in the Tatiana Suarez vs Amanda Lemos fight on Feb 17, but this has to worry Lemos a lot. Lemos had failed an out-of-competition drug test in 2017, coming up positive for the steroid stanozolol; the drug failure came 4 months after Lemos’ octagon debut and loss to Leslie Smith at UFC Fight Night 113. She was suspended through November 2019 and after that she beat many opponents until Andrade choked her in April 2022. In other words, Lemos could end up like Alistair Overeem, who also had a drug violation and never won a UFC title despite his punching ability. Weili's wins were accomplished in a variety of ways. Weili choked out Carla Esparza, who is known for her grappling. She went toe-to-toe with Joanna. She outpowered Andrade. Although Weili was KO'd by Rose Namajunas, Rose did very little after that and her fight against Carla will go down in history as one of the worst performances, which the fans don't want and neither does the UFC. Weili's loss to Rose could end up like GSP's losses to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra.

Good critique of Amanda vs Weili UFC 292 That fight was amazing. Amanda had a lot of power in both hands and with minimum ground game though. She couldn't defend Weili take down. Wow, Weili improved so much with her ground game. It remind me of GSP "unleash the ground and pound....." Amanda was being mauled by Weilie all 5 rounds.
