    Hi Nandi! thank very much for this video. I am a midwife from Chile and it is almost the same in my lovely country and I am very glad of that. Currently I am in Germany, thinking to start the homologation process to become a Hebamme but in here they only cover for the pre-natal car, birth and postpartum, so it's a no for me because I LOVE contraception and the gynecologie field, that's why I am very exciting! Can you please tell a little bit more about the salary in Sweden and also if you do interventions with menopause women? Thank you very much!

    • @midwifenandi
      @midwifenandi 14 дней назад

      Hey, thank you so much for your comment! How exciting with a fellow midwife from Chile! Yes, midwives here in Sweden care for women during menpoause, but I think it's more so the gynaecologists field of work, very little focus was on menopause during my studies. The midwifery salaries are not great, but it's an okay salary from Swedish standards (not if you consider how much schooling and responsibility it is). Depending on where in the country you work and what you work with the salary varies a bit. You can see it here: allaloner.se/yrken/barnmorska If there is anything else you wonder, let me know!

    It's good to know that there are postpartum doula. Maybe do a video on how to find a doula/breastfeeding couch, postpartum aches, and pain specialists in Sweden, and i don'thave to go through the healthcare system and feel invalidated... From experience I felt the nurse question like, is your baby latching well or how is the baby feeding etc felt like a measure of my ability and I just said OK, but in my head I was asking myself what does that mean.

    • @midwifenandi
      @midwifenandi 2 месяца назад

      Great feedback! Yes, I can do a follow up video about this. I think when it comes to breastfeeding specifically I think education before baby arrives is so important! Then you know what to expect and have a better gauge of what is normal.

    Does woman age matter for virginal birth? For example; a woman is 36 years old so should she go for virginal birth or c-section at her first pregnancy? And what if she’s 36 and had a c-section previously so what can she choose C-section at the age of 36?

    • @midwifenandi
      @midwifenandi 2 месяца назад

      No, the age is not a factor when recommending type of birth. Anyone, regardless of age can have a vaginal birth.

  • @Febhr

    Hi Nandy, I had a c-section previous in my country and 2nd time also I want to have it. So can I choose elective c-section 2nd time? Will doctor agree with me?

    • @midwifenandi
      @midwifenandi 2 месяца назад

      Hey, thanks for your comment! I would say generally people are recommended to try vaginal birth after one c-section. But of course this depends on the circumstances of why you had a c-section the first time and why you want it this time around.

      @@midwifenandi my diabetes and blood pressure was high in my first pregnancy and also I have hypothyroidism for 15 years. I had a gallbladder removal surgery also before my marriage. So all these things can put me into c-section again? Because I want c-section in Sweden.

    • @midwifenandi
      @midwifenandi 2 месяца назад

      @@Febhr It's impossible for me to give you a answer what will be recommended in your case. A lot will have to do with your overall health the coming pregnancy, the midwife and doctor you meet, etc. If you are in Sweden already I suggest you contact your local midwifery center, maybe they can help you by looking at your charts from your previous pregnancy, etc. Best of luck!

      Hi, yes you can. But depending on why you had a c-section previously the doctors may or may not recommend another c-section. You can not "choose" to have another c-section, but you can request it have explain why you want a c-section. Best of luck!

      Sure, I will make a video on it. But your midwife should be able to give you an idea. Some things seem to vary over the country, some supply diapers and some don't, etc. But focus on what you and baby need, clothes, essentials, especially if you live far and can't have someone pop home to grab anything you may have forgotten.

    Hey, Nandi. I’m expecting my first child here in Sweden and we found out today that it’s a boy. In my home country Nigeria, circumcision for male children is a norm, but I’m unsure how that works here in Sweden. I tried reading up on it online, but couldn’t really get enough info. Can you help me with any useful links or information that can help me understand the system?

    • @midwifenandi

      Congratulations! Circumcision is not the norm in Sweden, but with an increasingly large Muslim community I know it is not uncommon. I am not completely sure of how to go about it in Sweden. My suggestion is to contact your closest BVC and ask them if they know or can help you further.
