How To Change Behavior
How do you get others to change their behavior?
We have our own thoughts that drive how we behave.
3:46] If you use force to change other people's behavior, most likely, you'll experience resistance. And they'll prove you otherwise.
3:39] A better way to share what you know is to understand someone better. Why they do what they do? They may have their reasons. People have their own beliefs.

Anyone who has ever worked in customer service would have heard of the phrase "The customer isn't angry at you, they are angry at the situation". It's so untrue. They are angry at both. It shouldn't be a worker's job to remind the customer how to treat employees with respect. It's ridiculous. That 16 year old may have shrugged it off, but when it happens multiple times in one day or you get just that one customer who absolutely loses it at you, you can tell yourself it's not your problem over and over, it's still going to affect you. I always find using policy and procedure to be a helpful tool because if they argue with that, then they are basically asking for us to go against our jobs. It can be difficult, especially when you're dealing with multiple personalities in a single shift. Being consistent with everything that you do at work is something that helps me get through the day. Most aggression with customers simply comes down to entitlement and anger issues. If people can't regulate their emotions, then they should get help. There is no way to justify it in any sense, no matter what nonsense the company makes up to allow it to keep happening. That's just my take on it. I don't expect anyone else to think the same. Take care of yourselves! You're all doing the best you can to survive and pay the bills. ❤️ Great video!

This is incredibly silly if I am critical of it for even a second unfortunately, but I do appreciate the focus on detachment from certain ways of viewing things. The world absolutely has a way of creating our perception of it, then feeding back into itself. It would be more appropriate then to say that we have the potential to find spaces where certain truths exist, where understanding can be found, and then used to give us a way of coping with that environment. Often times anger and conflict is the result of the natural human emotion of, ironically, empathy. We want to believe that a person wouldn't have the audacity to treat us poorly when we are so good to them, when we have so much to offer with our thoughtfully crafted perspective and history. Everyone's life is unique, so we must be obligated somehow to share what we have learned with one another. The world unfortunately has a way of pitting us against each other so that becomes impossible. The people who "know" something ironically do not care enough to speak in each other's presence, as neither of them has asked the other to speak, and they are both satisfied with the truths they have uncovered. People that know very little cannot help but get to shouting in each other's faces.

How do ppl trust and gamble on college on education when the system has all these bad teachers that have determined even before they get the list of students that they will fail over 50% of them, even if those people know the material and would have passed otherwise? I'm having trouble logically thinking this is right and fair. And I remember going to class and on the syllabus day, first day in class more than 1 teacher basically apologized to us and told us their bosses had told them to get more tuition money from the students they are required to fail as many as they can, and at least half or they themselves will be fired. This happened to me over 10 years ago, and I don't know how to reconcile my thoughts on it, and at the same time wanting to go back and finish my degree. Or even feel like I can spend money on education when Its not fair. Logically you can't gamble with money. So how is someone supposed to gamble on college when the honest teachers who are good are actually saying, hey I'm going to be unfair and kill half of your futures, because the bosses said I have to. How does someone justify college or even thinking its fair if this is the case? And what are you supposed to do?

Great video, I agree with spirit of what you say, but not necessarily all of the details. I firmly believe that some of the stochasticity in the world is due to the laws of physics and not just due to a lack of understanding the governing principles of the universe. I am a huge fan of Einstein, but that one statement "God does not play with dice" is the one of his big blunders, in my opinion. I firmly believe at the quantum level of extremely small objects over extremely small time periods the Universe itself does not track the exact location and momentum of its particles but only has a probabilistic idea where they exist. The Universe then choose among the possible choices when they are observed. Note very importantly it is the Universe that does not know the exact measurement, not a case that our measuring equipment is not precise enough. Farther, I believe that the combination of these tiny unknowable micro-universe decisions where even the universe itself does not know what the outcome will be and Chaos theory which states that tiny changes in initial condition can make massive differences in long term outcomes mean that predicting exact outcomes in the future is not possible in the distant future in systems with a large number of interactions. Now, someday someone may prove this concept wrong, and in this future world exact fortunetelling might become possible, but I do not personally believe it will be shown false.
