Toga Chan We just went to the show table, told which rabbit we had shown, and explained that someone had accidentally taken our ribbon and they gave us a replacement. Someone else just went home with an extra ribbon.

meh If I just need the mark to last a little while, like I’m sorting bucks and does or weighing, my marker of choice is food color pens. I bought two sets on Amazon about two years ago and they are now scattered everywhere but I haven’t had any run out of ink. In a pinch I will use Sharpies but I haven’t fully researched the safety of rabbits licking Sharpie ink so I try to avoid it. But for permanent ear tattoos I have used the KBtatts tattoo pen which works great but I had a hard time getting replacement needles so I switched to a cheap human tattoo kit with really common needles. Brie's Bunny Barn I feel judges at a fair are in an educational environment and know there are people wandering through who have no clue about rabbits. They have always been willing to answer questions but you’re right about them talking like auctioneers. I have tried writing judge’s comments on show cards before and I couldn’t keep up!

Miyuki hoshigawa The entire enclosure is 100 feet long and 20 feet wide. That includes the shelter at each end and in the middle. A rabbit in a cage typically needs about 4-6 square feet of space but in a colony a territorial doe may claim more and a non-territorial doe may buddy up with one or more other rabbits in a smaller area. Pregnant does will definitely claim the area they intend to kindle. We are still learning how to minimize fighting and try to remove does that are bullying other rabbits regularly. We also do not keep any breeding age bucks in with the colony of does so that we can closely monitor which rabbits breed when. We have not had warm enough weather to begin experimenting with allowing rabbits to kindle and raise their kits in the colony.

Miyuki hoshigawa If we didn’t show purebred rabbits in more than one breed, a more free-breeding system could be practical. Right now we are working on our nesting and grow-out areas to reduce stress on our young kits and give them somewhere to grow until they are old enough to handle the fairly stressful release into the colony setting. Keto Country Homestead Horse Club? We did a little 4-H Rabbit Club but FaithLynn also does Marching Band and Swim Team and Cello and the list just goes on. We’re lucky to get a few rabbit shows in here and there. Tell us more about Horse Club, though!

Keto Country Homestead, the current count in the colony is 85 rabbits. Have some more going to be tattooed and moved out there hopefully today. Getting close to our goal of having everyone that can run free in the colony out there having a good time. Hope your rabbits are doing well! We are really excited to be finally moving to our planned colony setup. The longer we use cages the more we learn about them and it will be a while before our buck habitat is built and we are cage free. We keep changing our plans for our colony as well as we learn from other people’s successes and failures. Keto Country Homestead Yep! Lotso used to live in my daughter’s room for a while. Unfortunately as Lotso got older she started making a ruckus in the middle of the night. Kept my daughter up one too many times and she got kicked out to live with the other rabbits. Thanks for pointing me to this video editor. I don’t care that the free version advertises itself. It’s super easy to use!
