For me, it usually comes down to what I did with Blackwall. If he is gone, then my party is going to need a tank in Trespasser, and that means Cassandra cannot be Divine. Same thing if Viv is being used as an important party member- if I want her in the party then she can't be Divine.

Oh that was a sudden end. I thought you would also explain the ending cards. And use those And ehile I understand to not include Viv. She can become devine and if you want to show why Lelisna is supirior you have to adress the unpleasant people as well.

I've picked each of them in various playthroughs, but my "headcanon" ending has Vivienne becoming the new Divine. Why? Because my PC is a mage, non-Andrastean, and feels that what the Chantry needs most is a serious shake-up. _Especially_ after what we learn about Tranquility and the way the Chantry has abused the rite to oppress the magically inclined.

well you dont directly choose the next divine. This happens through several key decisions made throughout the game Theres a guide on the internet so im not gonna explain the process. However player needs to know this: Leliana contributes to the best world state as she actually reforms the Circle Cassandra does OK job but absolutely hates being the Divine Vivien.... I dont even know why she is an option. World state under her means everything goes back to the way before the war - Circles with oppressed mages, Corrupt templars etc Theres also the fact that she is the only candidate that doesnt get War Table mission to be supported as the next Divine. And it felt weird that if you play as a mage you can ask Cassandra why you (the inquisitor) is not put as candidate and she explains that its mostly because you are a mage. So it makes 0 sense for Vivien to become Divine. Anyways, i consider Vivien route to be the fail route As for best world state im thinking: ----- Allied with the mages Said "I will do it because its right" when becoming inquisitor Wardens banished Gaspard+Briala rule Morrigan drinks the well Hardened Leliana as Divine

Cassandra grows as person through the game, if this was a book her arc would probably be her becoming the Divine while Leliana has always been a supporting character whether it was to the Warden, the Divine or the Inquisitor. To me all of your reasons show why she is best suited to the cloak and dagger instead of the spotlight, she has the temperament for it and she’s good at it.

Main reason to chose leliana comes from her quote when u ask her why she support mages “ i can also kill people yet i am free and they are not”

She had plenty of screen timr, the problem was how that time was used, but she was also written out of a lot of big moments, captured a lot because she`s a weak woman and men are just better. In the new DLC she has like 10 lines of dialogue for the whole 2 hours. For example Charon and Tomes appear only at the beginning and the end of the DLC, but both have way more dialogue.

Jill is a better character than TIfa. I'm going to be in fact non-biased over here. FFXVI is my favourite FF, despite the deviation from the traditional gameplay the franchise has been offering for years. FFXVI has better characters; hightier love story, therefore, it tops FFVIIR for me. But you may have one-sided love for Jill here. Here are my thoughts: 1. FFXVI is indeed being made as the narration of Clive's story point of view. The game entirety is his story; things are viewed from his perspective. Party member growth was never the main intention in this FF entry; it was simply a totally new approach by the faithful developer. 2. Jill is strong, but she has always lost to Hugo (high likely). In most games, characters unlocked are usually nerfed. Else, the main character will shine less. Jill can be stronger in one scene-her confrontation with the evil patriarch. But she was sidelined, so that we could play Clive to defeat the boss. Lets just take the terrain that was highly unfavorable to her, but that arc in particular is an important one to her. She forgives herself, never see herself as a monster henceforth, and able to move on with her companion. 3. And just hinting, I can't see Jill out-fight Barnabas, there Jill chose to sacrifice herself to hold for Clive's escape; I think that's the inner character of her. Jill can't be allowed to join in the last battle for various reasons, as you have just pointed out, for a more memorable parting scene to be created and Jill has lost her Eikon power, drawing it forcefully will be a one way trip and she will share the same fate as Dion's after using it. That's all. I like Jill Warrick for who she is compared to Benedikta. Benedikta and Jill are similar in that they both endured terrible trauma. However, Benedikta uses her trauma as an excuse for cruelty and to hate the world. Jill, on the other hand, uses her trauma as a catalyst to become stronger and better to help people who cannot be helped. Both are well-written characters, but Jill is really awesome and almost reminds me of Terra. However; This time, the focus of the story is not on Terra but Clive's.

They did her so dirty. By the end of the game did everyone that wasn't Clive dirty. Jill deserved more

do I lose Leliana in the war room if I choose her as the divine?

Also worth mentioning that a lot of DLC game mechanics were free Mods before being incorporated by Colossal Order into a DLC, showing that they want to support community workshop ideas.

Why anyone chooses Vivienne is beyond me
