@rushzei thanks for the feedback. Thomas is indeed listed as one of the 12 disciples and in the book of John he is referred to as Thomas "Didymos" and you'll find this is greek for Twin. That would certainly imply a deep level of closeness. Also, if you've read the Gospel of Thomas, then you will see it is one of the highest moral and spiritual findings of scripture available. In conjunction, it more closely resembles the overarching message of Mark, Mathew, and Luke in that Jesus never makes explicit divine claims about himself. Rather, it is implied that the Kingdom of God is within us all. I also noticed another comment you made that this teaching is "false". That said, to claim any of it is false is simply a standard subconscious tactic to raise ones level of belief over another which if I interpret any of the messages of Jesus in particular, was not the intention. If I am one with God and that oneness emanates with the purity of light and love. Does it matter how I reached that conclusion?

The Gospel of Thomas is a false Gospel.

I disagree

The gospel of Thomas was written about a hundred years after the resurrection of Christ, where as Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were written as with in 10 years of the resurrection of Christ. Plus there are multiple narratives in the gospel of Thomas which means it wasn’t written by one person. Plus it contradicts the teachings of Christ.

Appreciate your feedback. Not sure why the duration of the writings matter but I am curious; just how does it contradict the teachings of Christ?

This is not in the canonical scriptures. It's from the gospel of Thomas and is rejected from inclusion in the Bible because of its Gnostic origins. Gnostic theology is believed by the Church to be a heresy and cannot be followed by Christians.

Yes, you are absolutely correct in your assertion. And having read the scriptures cover to cover, and raised “catholic” I find my faith to be more aligned with continuing to search outside of standard church narratives. Respectfully, as I believe everyone should choose their faith and find love through it deeply. I struggle with the rationale to exclude any teachings especially from Jesus. The Thomas Gospel in particular speaks to the “light within” and being in us all. Similar to Genesis when it all began with “light”. I don’t find heresy in believing God is in us all. And I can see “Christ Consciousness” as a possibility to see that light. Massive blessings of Love to you.
