I am using this channel to share a couple of what I think are historic moments which I was fortunate enough to be present at with a video camera in my hands.
How lucky was I to be at the 4th Doodah Parade back in 1980 in Pasadena, CA and have a video camera? The quality is sub standard but the video tape has survived 40+ years.
43 years later, in 2003, I was on tour (not a musician but tour support)with Ray Manzarek & Robby Krieger of The Doors. When we arrived in Paris there was a planned visit to Jim Morrison's Grave in Pere Lachaise Cemetery.

The video quality isn't the greatest but it is what it is. I went to a few Doodah parades when I lives in southern California.
Car ride around the North Shore of Massachusetts

A 1 hour ride around the towns that I grew up in, Lynn, Swampscott, Peabody, Salem and Marblehead, and hung out in back in the 50's & 60's. This video was shot sometime around 2002-2003, I think.

Most annoyed autograph signer I’ve ever seen
U have to really put some effort into what Morrison did with his life and not make it past 30
Waiting for the sun....❤💜💜❤️💌
What a moment that was reuniting with their soulmate
So much for privacy, right? We were there in 2014, 3 of us, two other Swiss visitors and a tour guide. It was great.
Legends
They should have visited Jim's grave incognito 🥸, if they didn't want to deal with the fans.
Legacy. Only word that comes to mind. And it took every one of them to make the legend! Not just Jim. Just as every frontman after him, he became the legend. God bless all those guys
I really wish Robby and Ray could have had time alone at his grave. It still aludes me that his body was put in the ground so quickly. Why did Pam bury him so fast? I'm sure she wasn't in her right mind , but it's still really weird. Every year, I get older, and life just seems more strange. He was just a kids really. Too young to die. I love to think of Jim still out there somewhere ❤
My a good old friend Lauri Iso-lähteenmäki giwe me the book's Jimi. When i read it, nothing was, when yesterday! Pete Kr🎸🇫🇮.
è decisamente troppo corta per una bara contenente un corpo alto un metro e ottanta
I would just live them alone. Not the right place for attention
Saw Robbie and John appear in a special Doors documentary, about 5 years aho, from their unique perspectives. It was thrilling and so well done. Thank you.
Kinda disrespectful setting his grave site on fire!
Foi uma homenagem ou puro vandalismo e uma certa vingança?😅
I knew that photo was gonna catch fire 😂
The inscription was added by JM's Father. It translates roughly as "True to his own spirit.". Very apt.
Great musician and songwriters.
why a fire?
It's awfull. It's a cimetery, not a circus.
I grew up when Jimmie Morrison did. He was amazing and obviously dogged by his detractors. Kudos to Jimmie Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Kriegar and John Densmore. Yes, he went his own way and the Doors made an indelible impression beginning with "Break on Through" and "Light my Fire" in 1967, which I listened to religiously. His legacy is the Doors and they still f*cking ROCK.
How did he end up there? Who decided that? Why didnt his family have his body brought back to U.S.?
They could have gone incognito! Nobody was going to recognize them. I would rather see my old friend without all the hoopla!
Hey- rock stars live for attention. 🤷♂️
where john densmor?
Jim is in paradise.
Jim Morrison my Super star
It's so... ❤
I wonder if fans of Lord Byron did this..went to the grave and paid homage all the time with gifts and such❤
My favorite Ray Manzerek arrangement will always be Riders on the Storm with L.A Woman comin in hot!
6:28 that crow in the background saying something
The Doors have been my favorite rock band for decades. Love jazz, but The Doors remain my number #1 rock band.
Fore the camera man, horrible
Почему не пришёл ударник?
2:02 lol
Light my fire
Just imagine if Jim actually did fake his death to get away from all the BS, and he was standing there amongst all those people silently taking it all in! And where the hell was Densmore?
Isn't Ian Astbury the third guy at the grave 9:52 ? (my IDOL!)
Ray was a legend for sure that’s the one I miss….. dignity grace wisdom all in one
I was there in 1975 and I'll never forget it. Awesome to see so much left at the grave and people who were not even born when The Doors were making music.
What fine people! Rock and Roll never forgets!
No one asking these legends questions and just want their sign. I’d be asking them so much!
What year was this? There are no cell phones, people are using regular cameras.
Read the description
Well like Neil sang ,out of the blue and into the black they give you this and they take away that once your gone you can't ever come back
❤ Jazzy ❤
It would have been interesting had he lived and gotten straight
At one point in my life they were # One
Thought they moved him back to grave in Florida 2003
@3:42 Thought I saw Jim Morrison for a second. Ian Astbury really got that Jim Morrison vibe.
Que triste 😢...van a firmar autógrafos...poco les importa haber perdido al gran Jimm Morrison.
Jim Morrison actually didn't write a large portion of the lyrics that he sang...He probably contributed the least musically as well. He is certainly the most overrated part of the band.
yes he did.. why write this nonsense?
he wrote most of the lyrics
@@lufcbrice because Robbie Krieger was also responsible for a large portion of their lyrics.
