Best EDC Emergency Charger Option
Is a 1 lb. battery bank a reasonable option for EDC emergency charging? I think a better option is one of the new one-time use emergency chargers available on the market today. In this video, we will look at the ChargeTab Emergency Charger. It is available in either Lightning or USB-C.

      I don't think I would use them all the time. But I have been caught before in a park or somewhere where I didn't have access to plug in. We don't always have a 3/4 lb battery and at 1.7 oz, these can be great in an emergency . . . Which is why they are called "emergency" chargers, I guess.....go figure. Have a Blessed Day!

    I was in Walmart yesterday and I seen a rock that had probably about a 100 of the orange knives on it. They were the second generation once they had the reverse reversible pocket clip. Here is how I did mine! Used a very sharp folding pocket knife to scrape all the lacquer finish off, drilled and countersunk lanyard hole, sharpened the cutting edge with a dremel garnet wheel, and used that same wheel to bevel all the sharp edges on the head, then taped up the head, hung up by the lanyard hole with wire, spray painted the handle with Army OD Green Camo paint. After drying, then did a similar wrap up at the head with #1 waxed bankline as you did with leather. Lanyard is orange 550 Paracord. I took the original edge guard and used 2 black Ranger Bands to hold the guard on. Finished. This will be stored in my SUV with some additional emergency gear! I left the head black.

    How thick is the wall of the handle where the set screw is? I was thinking, extend the divot on the opposite side a bit, take a tap the size and thread count of the set screw and put some threades in it to serve as anchor points for the JB Weld. Im assuming of course you didn't put the set screw back in. But if the set screw was used I'd want a longer one. Maybe use medium grade thread locker on it. What i havent seen is any ideas on blade replacement if that one broke. How would you get the JB Weld out or reseal it? It might be possible to source or make that tension clip. Instead of JB Weld, how about a vulcanizable rubber compound to seal around the blade tang?

    • @CowboySurvival
      @CowboySurvival 5 дней назад

      @@johnruckman2320 first, your idea is sound. In fact many have done just what you propose. I chose NOT to do that to test whether JUST the JB Weld with the original set screw would be sufficient. With respect to replacing the blade....the knife is just $10, so I would just replace the whole thing, I think.

  • @johnruckman2320
    @johnruckman2320 5 дней назад

    I put that flexseal stuff on some stocking foot waders and it never did cure. Id use some type of rubber compound that you could hit with heat to vulcanize it. If you can find the right stuff.

    I thought about going camping during the snow event then I remembered, this Texas boy don't like the cold. Seriously though, I don't like camping during hunting season. The deer out at my place don't seem to mind but you never know about poachers and trespassers mistaking me for a deer without the blaze orange. (not that I've had a problem with those, but there's always that one time"). Now when it warms up I probably will, might even do a video myself. lol.

    That color change on the bottom edge of the bit means you past the temper temperature. Don't be surprised when it beaks off because it was overheated, also it will probably be hard to keep that part sharp. When working with heat treated metal, it is VITAL to keep it cool. That is something that can not be fixed without a new heat treat, I hope for your sake that was the only part of the blade that overheated. Paint stripper would have been better to remove that black paint than a grinder, but hey, I guess it worked right. 🤣🤷
