    Even I found these little white guys all over my Oscar tank.. I was worried initially thinking they're some kinda zombie parasites multiplying super fast.. my Oscar doesn't seem to eat them. I am worried if they over populate and harm the Oscar fish.. please let me know if I need to ignore and leave those white tiny guys live in the tank or do I need to do something?

    So morning direct light is the key to breeding? Interesting! How big do barbs have to be to breed? I’d love to give it a go with my green tiger barbs.

    • @otcfishkeeper5414
      @otcfishkeeper5414 6 месяцев назад

      I am not sure exactly how big but I would think over 6 months should be a good start. Tiger Barbs are a good one to start with because the babies are fairly east to feed.

    That was a solid bite by your Oscar , to that Dempsey . How'd it work out ? I'm introducing my jack Dempsey And my Flagtail to my two Oscars next week in my 125 and I'm extremely nervous especially after seeing that hit 😂

    • @otcfishkeeper5414
      @otcfishkeeper5414 6 месяцев назад

      It was a fluke hit but if it is the one I am thinking of it did kill the Jack. I have kept these two types of cichlids together for years and that was the only problem I have had with them. It was just sad bad luck.

    • @TnTAquatics
      @TnTAquatics 6 месяцев назад

      @@otcfishkeeper5414 , I was afraid to hear that And I'm sorry for the loss . thank you for the reply Normally , I keep my aquariums species only However , I recently moved into a smaller apartment and unfortunately everyone has to take a hit on space . I have no choice but to mix these fish together on Monday but the 125 will be a new environment for all 4 of them so I'm hoping they will be distracted . I'm also adding two wavemakers to the aquarium on opposite sides of the tank . The goal is to keep them too busy trying to acclimate to the new environment and the high flow of the wavemakers they don't have time to fight but only time will tell . I subbed to your channel btw thanks for the update

    • @otcfishkeeper5414
      @otcfishkeeper5414 6 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the sub. I think it helps to have more than 2 together. Just like you said, more will keep them too busy to fight as much. I recently added a large pleco to my Oscar tank and even that little bit of change has reduced the aggression a bit.

      I think they were just fin nipping each other because when I separated them most of the fins grew back. The only fins that didn't grow back were the ones that were bit down too much. I still have one of them, I keep him with some cory catfish and they leave each other alone.
