I believe Canine Companions breeds dogs for their programs. There are programs that rescue dogs from shelters, and inmates train them to be service dogs. The disabled person receives an excellent service dog and companion, and the inmates learn valuable skills and are changed forever. The recidivism rate is low for inmates that train dogs. The dogs are saved from euthanasia in many cases. If you are interested, please ask me for more information.

Jason, as a wife of a retired Apache Pilot, your book has touched me in many ways. I will not disrespect you by saying I feel sorry for you. Instead well done on your after retirement mission. I actually met my husband in Savannah. I know Hunter Army Airfield quite well. Never question your decision with your leg. I am still living with the fallout of osteomyelitis of my jaw. Every day is a fight. In amongst this, I lost my oldest Son. I am blessed my marriage has survived as Charlie is from my 1st marriage. I have days that I have to will myself to breath. Bet you know all about that. My Doctor talked me into getting my own dog to help with anxiety/ptsd from losing my son. Brees has been my savior. She wasn't trained, but she just knows. Yes, Brees my favorite QB and the Saints. I am a Louisiana girl. You know we can't make the perfect pot of gumbo without the Rue. Life is like gumbo. Take the good, the bad, the ugly, mix in the perfect Rue and you have the Beauty. God Bless. I know Napal is watching over from above. Yes, I cried at the ending.
