Nice interview by Norway's finest interviewer, Fredrik Skavlan. I respect Rubin a lot for what he did, and the film with Denzel in the lead role was fantastic. Just a shame that Denzel didn't come to the interview as well, that would have been awesome. Ok, this entire interview is bullshit!!! First of Rubin Carter was never found not-guilty of the murders. He had twice before his release been convicted of triple murder by the juries. The judge simply overturned his sentence because the prosecution failed to turn over some evidence and because he had already served 22 years in prison, so it was decided not worth the effort in fighting against his release. So he was never cleared of any murders. It's also worth noting that Rubin Carter had a long history of violence before he was convicted of the murders. Already at the age of 14 he was convicted for assault and armed robbery and by the age of 22 he had been imprisoned twice for street muggings. He was court-martialed and kicked out of the military (funny how the movie totally discarded that fact). There is so much bullshit and fabrication regarding Rubin Carter story that it astounds me that people to this very day still buy his shit and consider him a hero. Even Bob Dylan after getting to know Rubin Carter started distancing himself from the case, and from what I've heard he stopped playing his famous The Hurricane song all-together because of it. When the movie Hurricane came out a lot of his defenders admitted that it was mostly a lie. The only thing that movie seemed to get right was that he was a black boxer who went to jail, other than that its all lies and fabrication. So shame on this show for bringing him on and letting him continue his lies!

Rubin carter was a chronic liar, all guilty criminals say oh it was the cops they hate me and their racists, in fact the cops arrested carter right after the shooting and let him go cuz hes famous, then they got more information about the car whos the same model as carters car and the description of the shooters and went back to make the arrest... he had no alibi, no one from the bar he claimed to be in had seen his famous face. hes a fucking liar! roth in hell rubin! What are the odds in that time of having 2 black men in the same car at that time in the mourning other then rubin, very very thin, id say impossible!

Yes.. I know, that he was not 1st.. movies usually oversimplify things. Have you read his autobiography? Did you get the impression he was holding anything back? It's quite clear he wasn't an innocent little youth -- but like said, the amount of proof with which the arrested him was not paper-thin, it was non-existent. Pedophiles knew that black kids were an easy target -- who would take their word when they talked to the cops who were white.

He wasn`t the no.1 contender at the time of his arrest as the movie would have you believe,he was ranked as no.9 and his career was on a serious downwards spiral. If you only go by the movie (i`m not saying you are,but IF),please read up on some of Cal Deans work at "graphicwitness" That whole movie is a farse.

What I find disgusting is how they identified the possible culprits. The only identifying fact they had was : "a white car". Not a mention of a license plate, or a brand of car anywhere. No guns found in the car, nothing. It's pretty clear to me, they locked up an innocent man. True, he wasn't an angel, but he was having a very successful boxing career at the time, no motive, no weapon -- just a white car. Sick.

You`re in for a shock.I knew that the Giardello fight wasn`t as loopsided as the movie "The Hurricane" portrayed it and that it was far from a robbery just bcoz Carter was black.Giardello won fair n square but i thought "oh well,it`s the movies..... Rubin Carter has never been declared innocent or otherwise exonerated by the courts.
