So if you don't know how to fish, you don't know how to buy a trailer. Got it.
No fishing skills required, but a handy explainer guide could help. www.mylittlesalesman.com/news/lowboy-trailer-buying-guide
Hey! My name is Cristina, i work as an SEO Expert at Vizalogix. We would be thrilled to contribute to a joint video where we delve into advanced equipment management techniques, software solutions, and industry trends. Could we schedule a call next week to discuss this potential video collaboration? How many pounds of weight can this box truck carry
That really depends on the specific trailer, but many 40 foot dry vans can carry 42,000 to 45,000 pounds (19,000 to 20,000 kilograms) of cargo. Again, this depends on the weight capacity as listed by the manufacturer.
Automated is great till you need a 5,000 computer lol
You could always hire someone to do the shifting for ya! 😆
3 pedals all day lol. You only use the clutch at lights and backing up 😊
Heck, if then! 😆
Dear Sir, I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been following your journey in the dump truck business on RUclips and have been truly inspired by your success and insights. I obtained my CDL-A license in 2018, but I haven’t utilized it as I was a teacher until recently. I made a quiet exit from teaching due to the constant scrutiny from superiors and the increasing difficulty of the job, despite my love for the students. I am now seeking a career change into the dump truck industry and would greatly appreciate your advice on getting started. Specifically, I am interested in whether I should initially work for a union or non-union company. I’ve seen many trucks on the road and assume there are pros and cons to both. Additionally, I’m curious if it would be wise to gain a year or two of experience before purchasing my own truck and starting my own business. I value being home with my family daily or every other day and want to ensure this career choice supports that goal. Your guidance would mean a lot to me as I look for a positive change and a successful future in this industry. Thank you for your time and advice. Best regards, John
Howdy John! Thanks for the thoughtful message. Regarding entering the dump truck industry, I would highly recommend reaching out to those with both union and non-union jobs to properly weigh the pros and cons of either side to find the choice that works best for you. You may be able to get said feedback in the comments sections of related videos or perhaps within Reddit groups discussing those topics. As for gaining dump truck driving experience before going into business for yourself-this is usually the wisest choice. While you'll mainly be working as an operator rather than a business owner, since that will likely be the bulk of your responsibilities, it's nice to gain that kind of experience without worrying about running your own business-which can be immensely stressful all by itself. We wish you on your journey in the industry-however that ends up looking like for you!

Nice.
Thanks! 👍

What we like to hear!!
What style of box truck is it when there are wheel well protrusions in the box? We are looking for a lower overall height box truck but still need seven feet of interior cargo height. But a totally flat floor isn't a priority. Thanks for the video!
If you're looking for a lower box truck, it sounds like you may be making more frequent stops-such as for deliveries? These are usually called "step vans" or even "multi-stop delivery vans." They may look like these: www.mylittlesalesman.com/step-vans-for-sale-i2c88f0m0 Is that closer to what you're talking about?
Looking to turn it into a camper step vans are out since I want to drive longer distances. I was curious if the truck at 5:36 had a particular name. Lower height with wheel well protrusions into the box. @@buyingbiggerbetteracademy
@@MyGoogleRUclips I believe that's a "utility box van" or "utility box truck" (just telling you what you might look for) built on a Chevy Express van chassis. If you want to make it into a camper that is accessible through the cab, a box truck made from a converted van may be the best option-as many truck conversions don't.
@@buyingbiggerbetteracademy Thank you :)

Best video I’ve found
Thanks for the encouragement! We're glad you found it helpful.
Can you guide me about the annual income of this type of trailer? And the price of this trailer?
Both of these numbers greatly depend upon the trailer itself (new vs used, its condition, features, etc.) and its successful utilization (how well demand keeps up, frequency of use, etc.). Ballparking the price, these trailers can range from $15,000 to over $100,000. Expected revenue can go from $0 to over $200,000 - just depending on a wide variety of factors.
My God, why do bore people to death with the kindergarten b*******Why don't you tell us what a good low boy is and what which one to avoid this c*** is disgusting? Why does everybody think everybody's a kindergarten? That doesn't know, obviously if you're looking at a low boy.You know a little bit about it.Get your head out your ass God bless everyone
Great video Sr thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Should of showed each trail your Describing
Probably so! This was just the podcast version of the article found here:www.mylittlesalesman.com/news/lowboy-trailer-buying-guide There, you will be able to see all of the trailers mentioned as well as videos of some in action. We hope that helps!
You nailed it. We learned the hard way. Our (well) was only 24' and the load we tried to put on need at least 26' well. Let's just say we sold that lowboy for a 3 axle lift rear 55T lowboy. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Make sure when you load it with whatever, your trailer can raise higher to clear low areas out on the road. Front and rear of trailer to raise up or down.. thanks!!
Happy to hear it!
I saw two dump trucks for sale with pup trailers. They were kenworth T800’ one was a four axle with a pup trailer the other was a kenworth t800 with a pup trail. One was a 2020, the other a 2019. 324,000 each
LOL. He wasted as much time making this crap as i did watching it.
Well, if you didn't like that one, we've got an updated version: ruclips.net/video/RWe5yPcvk4k/видео.html
4 Wheelers are less likely to pull out in front of them (at least the ones with brains)
Papaw did this for years half a century ago. Said he stood over a hole and pumped gas into it. Fumes hit him in the face. Lung cancer killer him or atleast related complications w his life lungs. He was probably the healthiest 93 i ever saw. 3rd time w lung cancer. I hope i can quit smoking.
When I quit, it took about 25 days for the cravings to go away. I also felt great and had energy after day 5-10 of not smoking. At that point it was a battle between fighting the cravings, while also feeling better. Was a wierd feeling, but paid off....
@randystanton1224 We're sorry to hear that. And we totally believe you can do anything you set your mind to. The new year provides all kinds of new chances to reset and restart!
@@canadajointops Likewise for one of our marketing fellas here. He quit smoking and now runs marathons...for fun! 😄 Anything is possible!
In order to haul fuel you should know how to drive back and maneuver a busy gas station isn't the place to learn to drive
Pack your patience for the days when your chasing product you may go to several terminals after fuel
Words of wisdom!
From a 20 tanker driver the main thing to remember is to write down what products are loaded in each compartment and double check to ensure you are unloading into right tank
Thanks for the input! We heard from one fuel hauler who talked about a co-worker who was fired for accidentally mixing different products too often. "We called him 'Sir Mix-a-lot.'" 😂
@buyingbiggerbetteracademy Cross drops happen even to experienced drivers it only takes a few seconds to screw up I've done it and it sucks to pump out a station
@@rodneystewart8958 That has to be a sinkin' feelin' in the gut! Ooof.
Perfect! 15:20 Box Truck Red Flags (for ref)
Thanks, John!!
Going there and kickin' the tires is always a tried and true way of verifying if it's legit. Meeting the seller and shaking his hand will tell you if he's the real deal.
Absolutely! However, more and more folks are buying equipment from sellers on the other side of the country, having it inspected via a third party, and having it shipped. While these scenarios can open up the market to new buyers and sellers, bad actors like to take advantage of this buying style-which is why it pays to be vigilant.
It still has Vin Numbers which makes it somewhat easier to get back. But the vin can be scratched which in itself is illegal. I know for a fact it's illegal for you to tamper with cars vins. Idk if the law has construction equipment added or not.
While a lot of road-ready construction equipment may have VINs, many merely have serial numbers-which tend to be far less documented and trackable for the purposes of recovery by law enforcement. While the National Equipment Registry (NER) exists to help folks track down lost or stolen equipment, because it's a private organization rather than a government agency, there are some limitations to how far it can go to help recover equipment. It is still just about the best chance you've got!
@buyingbiggerbetteracademy that honestly sucks. It sounds like the system isn't working, which makes stealing construction equipment easy. I only see a change if millions of pieces of equipment get stolen at once.
@@s3rye306 It's a HUGE problem. Half a million pieces of construction equipment have been stolen just this year alone and only about 25% are recovered. Why? Well, because it's tricky to track them all and keep folks from selling stolen gear. That's why it pays to be vigilant! We made a full guide about this here: www.mylittlesalesman.com/news/protecting-your-construction-equipment-theft-prevention
Duh
GOING TO BUY A FORKLIFT TRUCK GET DIFFERENT ESTIMATES WHILE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FORKLIFT TRUCK CHECK EACH ONE VERY CAREFULLY AND NOTES ABOUT EACH ONE FIRST OFF CHECK OUT THE EARS MAKE SURE THE EARS ARE CLEAN AND CAN MOVE INDEPENDENTLY AND TOGETHER THIS IS DONE TO SEE IF THE FORKLIFT TRUCK CAN DO THIS THEY HAVE 16 INDIVIDUAL MUSCLES IN EACH EAR AND THAT MAKES FOR 32 MUSCLES ALTOGETHER
Thanks for sharing. Just curious-which component on a forklift is called the "ears"? We haven't heard that one yet. The fork extensions? Side shift mechanism? Other attachments? Just the forks themselves?
What do you think about purchasing a medium heavy dump, like a Mack MD
In general, many dump truck owners and operators love their medium-grade dump trucks because they supply enough power and body capacity while remaining more efficient and agile than heavier-grade trucks. A common issue with newer buyers is that think they should always buy more than they'll ever need. In actuality, they find themselves with too much truck a lot of the time. This can be a real issue regarding fuel efficiency, weight restrictions, and maneuverability.
Damn! Excellent video. Precise, thorough, and informative. Well done!!
We'll take it!! 😆We're happy to be of help. Let us know if you have any questions.
Great guide on the technical aspects of choosing the right dump truck! 👍 For those considering or already running an owner-operated dump truck business, remember that the vehicle is just one part of the equation. Managing your operations professionally, keeping track of jobs, and ensuring timely payments are equally crucial. Consider exploring tools or software that streamline these processes. It's not just about the drive, but how you manage the drive that counts. #OwnerOperated #DumpTruckBusiness
Thanks! And yes, selecting the right truck for the job is just one piece of the greater puzzle.
