I think this might actually be THE BEST and most UNIQUE Lingering Will fight. I don't I've ever seen someone use every single moveset at its fullest. Magic,Limits,Drive forms and combos and such. It was so cool to see all of them being used here

Just beat him. Was looking forward to fighting him after defeating the whole Data crew. Honestly, I'm disappointed, and here are the reasons. - Way too much random factor. I beat him on my 10th or 15th try, and solely because I got lucky he didn't spam too many attacks against which you're just lucky if you survive them (example: locking your magic command). And this is not correct. A boss shouldn't be beatable in a scenario where he doesn't use too much of a certain attack. As tough as these can be to dodge for a good challenge, there shouldn't be a case where you die telling yourself "ah, crap. He used this attack against which there is close to nothing you can do so that's why I died. Next time he won't use it and I'll win". Which is basically what happened to me. - Talking about random factor, his patterns are just frustrating and too uneven. For example, when he swipes you with his blade (a bit like Sora's triangle command in the 1000 Heartless battles), you have to block it and wait until he's done to attack him. But sometimes he swipes thrice, some other times, four times, some other times, five. And when he glides down on the ground so you can, finally, try to attack him, his animation can as much be him landing so you can attack as it can be that he's readying, again, his swiping attack. Really poor design here. Considering the large amount of attacks he has, developers should never implement 2-3 variations per attack. This is not challenging, it's just dumb. Give him even harder attacks to block or dodge in terms of timing if you want, but not variations. - The windows you have to attack him are so incredibly short, it takes away any epic factor to the fight. Talking about the lucky factor, this is exactly what this point is about. If he lands close to you after one of his attacks, then you can connect with a combo. But if not, he'll spam a new series of attacks if you couldn't get to him in the half of a second window you have. Sometimes, he can spam 3-4-5 series of attacks before you get to him. There were moments where I couldn't take away one inch of his life bar in five minutes, and some other time where I'd reduce half of his life bar in three minutes. So no progress, or too much progress, but kills the pacing and prevent you from the feeling of a epic fight where he's attacking like crazy but where you can give him back at the same time. And I didn't talk about him sometimes being hittable for three series of combos from Sora and some other times where he just combo breaks him after three attacks after you've been waiting for five minutes to finally land something on him. - Talking about pacing, his desperation move where he becomes invincible and hunts you down with infinite combos; again, total destruction of pacing. It's okay for a boss to have a rough phase with brutal attacks, but never for so long. Make it even tougher but shorter, so can we have a feeling of progress in the battle instead of just escaping and crossing your fingers that he won't touch you, which happens if he just randomly manages to teleport next to you. I could keep going for many more points of my rant, but I'll stop here. Nobody's reading this shit because the game came out 20 years ago. But I still wanted to say what I thought of him because I honestly thought he sucked as a hard optional boss. I beat him fair and square without a cheese strategy (if there is any against him), and it didn't take me too long, so I'm not bitter or anything. Many were way less fortunate than me. But he's far from a memorable epic fight when I compare him to the other tough bosses of the franchise. Ruby and Emerald Weapon, Ozma, Sephiroth (KH1), Ultima and Omega Weapon (FF8), all optional tough bosses who go down as cult adversity to me. This one, poorly designed. Half of the Data guys, when I beat them, I immediately wanted to beat them again, try out new stuff or try to do it even quicker. Him, zero chance I explore this fight again. My two cents.

This may be the frustrated Star Wars fan in me speaking, but I feel the final battle of episode 9 would have been way better if it was similar to this. Imagine Sora as Rey, Riku as Ben, and Xemnas as Sidious. I feel like the flaws of episode 9 would be overlooked way more if they gave us an awesome lightsaber battle at the end. That's my biggest personal pet peeve with Disney Star Wars. But I digress.
