Just showing how I grew up in the country. Preparing for winter snow storms and hot weather storms. Backup heat and power. Then just the basic ideas and preparedness items needed to help get through such times.

That chicken soup I was prepping to cook at work. 4 hours on high. A lot better than fast food.

Why? To save money for needed supplies and items. Also better health. This is what I have started doing to save money. Since I became ill last week. To get my health back. Using a crock pot to prep meals for home and work to save up some money and eat better. I started using a 2qt at work and it is helping.

Dad passed last Sunday. So I have just been out of it. He started going downhill faster last month. He had a Good life. Made it to 93.

Glad To See You're Eating Healthy. I Have A Large Slow Cooker I Got Cheap 2nd Hand. Pork Shoulder Is A Relatively Cheaper Cut. I Do One With Taters & Veggies A Couple Of Sundays A Month. Makes A Great Sunday Dinner, With Leftovers For A Week. Blessings To You & Yours Stay Safe

Ouch I am so sorry. My Dad passed over a decade ago and I miss him. I wondered if any days would go by without thinking of him. I hope you both were not estranged. ((hugs))

Erick...I'm so sorry for you. I know he was a great man by seeing your character. It will be hard in the beginning... but will take some time to not grabbing the phone to call him...and then realizing he can't answer !!! I lost my own "Greatest Dad In The World" back in 2018....aged 86 !!! God Bless You and Yours !!!!

Thank you again Erick. I live at the New Jersey Shore and we lost power for 3 weeks after Super Storm Sandy !!! We were well prepped with 2 gas generators and a Whole Home NG generator.
Tropical storm came through I didnt have a power loss I do need to get something for power loss for fridge.
