you said that they check the 4 bar intake expansion only in norcal but i got checked at my state comp too and im in washington
it wasn't enforced as heavily in other states, in norcal, people were literally switching to green only intakes because the dqs were so common. every single team with a 4 bar intake got at least 1 warning in states

our intake apparently extended out of width limits by 0.00001 nanometers while intaking purple so we had to dump all of them

Context as to why there werent that high of scores: The north california head ref has their own teams that did infact get into Dallas world championship. The head ref claims that the teams with a 4 bar intake, when getting cubes on one side of it or entering supply zone it tilts and goes out of width limits. Although it is true the only regional championship or any event for that matter (even the US OPEN) to enforce this rule is only Norcal states. Its pretty obvious why, as the reason why his teams qualified was because of excellence (a judged award), and was 100% double qualified through skills (which also heavily enforced this questionable rule)
And it’s crazy too because arm bots also break that “rule” all the time according to his definition lol

yes, but it gives us level 3 which makes up for it and ontop of that, that lets us fit more cubes inside of one bucket which overal nets us more points (this strategy s the only way to consistently get 165) samuel cheng has a video on it as well
