Hi there, friends! Today I'm laying out my October / Samhain monthly spread. I wanted this month to reflect my appreciation for my family by making it an Ancestral Altar theme. Lovely set up. I, personally, love the colors, but if you are disappointed, and have decided brush pens aren't for you, I say go back to watercolor. You are an amazing artist. Work in the medium you enjoy.

I am using the same pens you are for my ink work. I had not considered using watercolor with them. What kind of book has those faint dots??? Which paints are you using and brush size/type??
Hi there! I'm using the Mellow Days - Rêverie Journal - "Floral Collection" Sage Green journal as well as Windsor & Newton Watercolors. The paintbrushes I'm using are from a cheap dollar store kit that doesn't have any markings. Sorry! I do have some fancier ones on the way, but they haven't arrived yet. @@TheInternationalWitch not that I’m aware of, but there were stands all up and down the highways from route 1 (beautiful scenic), we found them traveling from Monterrey to Sacramento.

It is cool to learn that Italians only eat foods in season. I love figs too, but in northern CA, I've got them almost year round. It is probably more nutritious to follow how the Italians eat seasonal fruit.

This is some pretty good research, just a couple notes. It’s Deutsche Mythologie… Deutsche meaning German. Adult Holtzmann was a German writing about German mythology. There’s a correlation between Easter and the month Eostre because what is known in English as Easter is specifically linked with Passover (this year being one of the few years they aren’t overlapping) and people tend to syncretize their cultures into the new religion to preserve them.
Yup, slip of the tongue. Even though the Netherlands was part of Germania Inferior until the 15th century, I always confuse the two. And yes, Easter is about the assimilation of older traditions which was my point. Christians believe Easter was completely invented by themselves. It's really funny to read some of their newsletters where they really do some gymnastics to explain it. 😂 Thank you for stopping by and correcting my geography slip
