Wrong ! Daniel 8 is about Greece. Not Rome. If you look closely the little horn of Dan 7 and Dan 8 are from two different "beasts" The one in Dan 7 Comes from 4th beast Rome. The one in Dan 8 comes from 3rd beast Greece. They have similar characteristics but do not represent the same person. However, they both represent the attitude and spirit of Anti-Christ. One was (Antiochus E) and one is yet to come.

@@briangdozier I do not wish to appear contentious, but would ask you to consider whether or not there is one power in this world today which claims to be God on earth and which claims the power to forgive sins. These are Great words against the Most High God. This power is alive and well today and currently seeks worldwide Sunday sacredness, further thinking to change God’s times and laws. It is the same power that persecuted the saints of God for 1260 years, killing millions of real followers of Jesus Christ, and which received an apparently deadly wound in 1798, when the pope was arrested and state power removed from him. (All of the Protestant Reformers believed the papacy to be the antichrist.). This is the same power that would have the world believe that it either was here in the past, or is something for the future. But the antichrist is alive and working, very hard, today.

@briangdozier how can that be when the 2300 days of Daniel 8 doesn't even have much to do with Greece except in a small measure? If you look again, when the angel asks how long shall be THE VISION which includes all these things be before the Sanctuary is cleansed, the answer is given, 2300 days. The VISION includes not only the He-goat (Greece), but ALSO the Ram (Medo-Persia). So that means this all begins with the Medo-Persian Empire, not with Greece. And Medo-Persia rules a lot longer than 2300 literal days. The Little Horn, on the other hand is a part of the 2300 days prophecy. If it is speaking about Greece or Antiochus, you're in trouble, because the 2300 days would have EXPIRED LONG BEFORE Greece came on the scene. On the other hand, if you use the day/year principle, then the 2300 days becomes years and far surpasses Greece, and goes into Rome. So whether literal, or with prophetic time, Greece only plays a small role in the 2300 days, and Antiochus really has nothing to do with it.

Then pat yourself on the back. The event that starts the clock is the defilement of the Temple. Who defiled the Temple? The little horn. How long will it be defiled? 2300 Days. From the time that Seleucus made himself king over the Syrian portion of Alexander’s empire, which is the Syrian horn of the goat, until that country was conquered by the Romans, twenty-six kings ruled over that territory during this time. Antiochus Epiphanes was the eight king. So Antiochus Epiphanes, was simply one of the twenty-six kings who ruled over the Syrian horn of the goat. So He was, during his rule, the Syrian horn. Hence he could not be at the same time a separate and independent power, or another, remarkable horn, as the little horn was. 2. If we are to apply the little horn to any one of these twenty-six Syrian kings, it should be applied to the most powerful and illustrious of them all; but Antiochus Epiphanes was definitely not this. Yes he took the name Epiphanes which means ‘The Illustrious’, but as history records he was definitely not this. If you look in history He was so vile of a person that people of his time changed his name from Epiphanes, “The Illustrious,” into Epimanes, “The Madman.” 3. Antiochus the Great, the father of Epiphanes, was terribly defeated in a war with the Romans and was only able to make peace by the payment of a large sum of money, and the surrender of a portion of his territory. Also as a promise that he would keep to the terms of the treaty, he was forced to give hostages, and one of them was Epiphanes, his son, who was carried to Rome. The Romans since that time continued dominance over Syria. 4. The Bible says that “little horn waxed exceeding great”. Does Antiochus Epiphanes fit this? He does not, on the contrary, he did not enlarge his dominion, except by some temporary conquests in Egypt. This he had to give up when the Romans took part of Ptolemy, and commanded him to stop his plans to conquer the area. The rage of his disappointed ambition he vented upon the unoffending Jews which we find in the Maccabees account. 5. The Bible says that The little horn, in comparison with the powers that came before it, was exceeding great. Persia is called great, and it reigned over a hundred and twenty-seven provinces. Greece, which defeated Persia is called very great and it’s power exceeded Persia. Now the little horn, which waxed exceeding great, must surpass them both. When we look at Antiochus Epiphanes we find that at the dictates of the Romans, he had to abandon Egypt and pay large sums of money to them. In fact history tells us that Antiochus Epiphanes had run out of money and because he had to pay large sums of money to Rome he went to Persia to levy the tribute money to pay to Rome. He was under a greater power that controlled him. Persia and Greece did not have another power ruling over them. 6. The little horn was to stand up against the Prince of princes. The Prince of princes here means, without a doubt, is Jesus Christ. Daniel 9:25; Acts 3:15; Revelation 1:5. But Antiochus died one hundred and sixty-four years before Jesus was born. The prophecy cannot, apply to Antiochus Epiphanes; because he does not fulfill any of the Bible specifications. So then this prophecy does not apply to Antiochus Epiphanes.

You misunderstood the presentation. Rome did not come out of Greece, Rome conquered Greece. Antiochus cannot be the little horn because he and the power he represents is not exceedingly great. The Bible talks about each power being greater than the last. How is Antiochus Epiphanes exceedingly great when Rome took him captive and then he came back only through a deal with Rome? Also all the great kingdoms Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome ruled the then known world going to even Asia. Antiochus Epiphanes and Syria never did this. In fact today we realize more than ever that Rome fits the Biblical description of an exceedingly great power. The US has Roman style government it is a Republic. In fact our capital building looks like the papal main building we also have an obelisk just like Rome. do we have a Syrian style government? Do you see Syrian influence in western governments? No. Also the prophecy is clear that the little horn power will put Jesus to death. The Syrian government was not in power. Rome was in power. Pilate was a Roman governor. By your argument then because the Jewish people rejected Jesus we should reject Him too? The Bible has clear characteristic marks and we must go where the Bible leads us.

@@southcentersda Context is King--- Daniel 8:1-12,20-25 is only about the 3rd Beast....Greece ! ! ! The Chronology of “Succession” is clear as day! Alexander the Great(Greek)-then 4 kings(Greek) who divide his empire- then the little horn king(Greek) comes out of one of the 4 Greek kings. To say the little horn king of Daniel 8 represents Rome is laughable! You can not remove verse 9 from the context of the surrounding verses and insert your own interpretation. Greek kings did not give rise to Rome! Your right the four horns that came out of Greece are the four generals which became four kingdoms. But the Bible doesn’t stop there because then it identifies a little horn power that is a separate power that arose among the four horns but is not the four horns. Starts out small but becomes exceedingly great. Italy is among the kingdoms of the four horns if you look geographically. Also the little horn characteristics still doesn’t fit Antiochus Epiphanes because he was never exceedingly great nor was the Syrian power ruling over Judea when Jesus was crucified. Antiochus is not the little horn. Please look at the texts in Daniel 8. Also if you look at the latest presentation on Daniel 9 it talks about the 2300 day prophecy which days equals years. Days is symbolic of years in prophecy. We discuss this further in that presentation. Also please watch the Antiochus presentation again. It seems you are missing some points.

Verse 9 says “And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land.” You failed to mention that he was “exceedingly great” only (towards specific regions). Don’t quote half a verse then make assertions and assumptions. Antiochus IV Epiphanes demonstrated his military prowess against The South (Cyprus), the East (Media & Persia), and (The glorious land) would be Israel. 2. The little horn of Daniel 8 comes to power before Jesus Christ lived. We know this because the Temple was cleansed and was operational when Christ was on earth. John 10:22 Jesus was at the Temple during the Feast of Dedication. What is the feast of Dedication? It was a feast in celebration of when Judas Maccabeus and his followers recaptured the Temple in Jerusalem from Antiochus Epiphanes 164 BC and rededicated it in 165BC BC. This event is also called Hanukkah, Feast of Lights. 3.The Jews, Jesus included understood that Daniel 8:14 has been fulfilled and celebrated that fact on Hanukkah ! SDA’s have to deny 2000 years of Jewish History, secular history, and bible context to support their wacky and wild interpretation of Daniel 8:14 ! Let’s go over our clues Someone who inherited power from one of the 4 kings/generals of Alexander Someone in history who caused the Daily sacrifices at the temple to stop and was guilty of the transgression of desolation, aka desecrating the temple. and vs 13 giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot aka killing God’s people. Is there anyone in history who succeeded one of the 4 kings, and then proceeded to destroy the sanctuary and kill God’s people in Jerusalem? ? ? Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the Seleucid king, was a descendant of Antiochus III the Great, who was a prominent successor of Alexander the Great. He brutally attacked Jerusalem, killing tens of thousands of Jews, including women and children. He desecrated the Jewish Temple, a sacred site, by installing an altar to Zeus and sacrificing pigs on it. Outlawed Jewish worship.

Yes Antiochus defiled the Temple and killed God's People so did Rome in AD 70, So Did Babylon in Nebuchadnezzar. Medo-Persia was the only one that did not because the temple was already destroyed. So they can all be considered the Little Horn with the exception of Medo-Persia. But what is happening is that with the interpretive method you are using there are a few pieces which do not meet the identifying marks. How do you reconcile that the Little Horn power stands up against the Prince of Princes which is Jesus? Clearly Antiochus was not around. Rome was in power. Also it doesn't make sense that the Bible goes from great to very great to exceeding great naming these great world powers then going to an obscure King who was dominated by Rome and made a vassal by Rome does not meet that criteria. Yes this king did persecute Israel and defiled the temple but he did not stand up to the Prince of Princes because he died over 100 years before. To your point that the little horn only waxed to certain directions, yes this is true. This point you can apply it to Antiochus epiphanies but also you can apply it to Rome. It is because geographically Italy is west of Greece. So the Bible would make sense to say that it waxed east and south and to the holy land. That is the only direction for Rome to go to complete their conquer of the then known world and the seat of civilization. During the time of Greece, Rome was quietly gaining in strength and had conquered the European powers and what was left was the territorial area that Greece had, which extended into Asia Minor and Egypt. This included Syria. The problem with applying this to Antiochus Epiphanes is that He was conquered by Rome. Not only that Antiochus while he did persecute the Jewish people He did exist during Jesus' time which you seem to ignore. Please study ancient history. Instead of adhering to Antiochus please look at the historical facts of Antiochus. Antiochus of Epiphanes does not meet the characteristics marks of the little horn specifically that he would be around to be the power that crucifies Jesus and was exceedingly great. If you are saying that Rome was not exceedingly great than there is an issue with the prophetic interpretive method because like we mentioned previously only an exceedingly great power would have an influence on the world and not just Syria and Israel and in Daniel and Revelation it tells us that the Papacy the second form of Rome will exist in this age. Do we have that today? Yes we do. The Papacy is very much alive today and is a very powerful influence in Christian spheres. Again Antiochus Epiphanes was dead before Jesus appeared. Again the Biblical point is that Rome rivaled Medo-Persia, and Greece. Antiochus Epiphanes did not conquer what Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome did. This idea that Antiochus Epiphanes is the Little Horn power takes us away from knowing who the true Anti-Christ power is and who as Christian's and I'm not just talking about SDA's, I'm talking about all protestants. This was the design of the Anti-Christ power to divide and cause Protestants to fight each other so that one day we would all accept the Anti-Christ. So what they did was they infiltrated Protestant universities and started putting in false prophetic methods and at first they were laughed to scorn and from the 1500s to the 19th century all Protestants universally held to one prophetic interpretative method until eventually it started to take hold. One of the powers that the Jesuit method of interpretation identified as the little horn was Antiochus Epiphanes. The reason why, in the Protestant universities laughed them to scorn was because history did not support this. Anyway there is more to say about this and so we will discuss this in a video. The little horn in its final form is the Roman first beast, anti----st: the white horse rider with a bow. The pontiff is infamous for carrying a staff topped with a bowed crucifix which, if turned on its side, looks like a bow prepared to fire _the body of Christ_ as its projectile weapon, which is essentially what his religion does. The following riders represent the forms of the Mystery of Iniquity that it created and/or are covertly allied with it: black, the Jesuit order, red, socialism/communism, pale green, Islam. All of these abominations identify themselves by symbols of the sun within the crescent moon, which denote the worship of Apollo|Artemis.

So your question has the answer 3 1/2 years given every Jewish year has 360 days if you add up each day in the years it = 1260 days also in this passage you see 42 months. Add up the days in 42 months and it also = 1260 days which is years. So the Bible is saying the same time period over and over again. That means it is very important. So the question is what are the 2 witnesses in Bible prophecy? This will be discussed in Revelation.

@@southcentersda No the two witnesses are literally killed and lie in the literal street where Their Lord (and ours if we believe) was crucified. Are you now going to say Christ was not Literally crucified? The Two will be literally killed and literally resurrected like Jesus was to complete the Word of God.

So what are the two witnesses? What is the great spiritual city called Sodom and Egypt? What is the beast that comes out of the bottomless pit that kills them? Why do the 2 witnesses prophecy for 1260 days? Revelation 10 and 11 are connected. The prophecy here is talking about a historical power. We will make the presentation when we get to Revelation. The day for year principle is non-denominational and was universally recognized until Preterism and Futurism created by the papacy started to take a hold on Protestant beliefs. Please look into history. Also in the Daniel 9 series we talk about how earlier catholic scholars also endorsed this. Then they realized that it pointed to them as the Little Horn power. There are 1260 days, 42 months = 3.5 biblical years discussed in the Book of Revelation, the prophecy. There is no Seven year tribulation mentioned there. I could tell you "who" they are, but would you believe scriptures? When you ask "what" are they I have to wonder if you really believe Jesus is a "what" rather than a "Who". The two witnesses are two literal men appointed once to die and then the Judgment. Not just any two men though and not some spiriritual concept like "the old and new testaments" They are living men just like the Son of God was the Son of Man. Yes it is VERY IMPORTANT to understand who they are and to believe the word we are given about their ministry, They will be the final witnesses to God's grace, which man has utterly rejected, before Our Heavenly Father destroys His enemies who obey not the gospel and know not God. [Deu 17:6 KJV] 6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; [but] at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. [Deu 19:15 KJV] 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established. [Mat 18:16 KJV] 16 But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. [2Co 13:1 KJV] 1 This [is] the third [time] I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. [1Ti 5:19 KJV] 19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. [Heb 10:28 KJV] 28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: God, the Father is not a hypocritical liar as many suppose. He keeps His own precepts. He will not destroy man until He has kept His Word. He testifies that He sent His Son (to complete His mission) and commands all to hear Him. He will send two more witnesses soon and they will testify for three and 1/2 years / 42 months / 1260 days - then there will be no more delay. Scripture tells us who they are, but most just scoff so I won't reveal them at this time.

We do not scoff at anybody but thank you for the reply. We do respectfully disagree with you and here is the reason why. Please hear us out. Revelation 1:1 the text says "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants-things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,”(KJV) The greek word for ‘signified’ is "ἐσήμανεν" which means to symbolize. So God commanded the angel to put the Book of Revelation into symbols and this is the principle in which we need to study the Book of Revelation. So the two witnesses cannot be literal people. Also Revelation being made symbolic is consistent with the day for year principle. In Numbers 14:34(KJV) God is prophesying about Israel wandering in the wilderness and he says “After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.” In Bible prophecy a day is for a year. Also we see 1260 days written in multiple ways such as ’42 months’, ‘time, times and a dividing of times’, etc. It is always in connection the with same state-religious power which is the papacy. We know in history it ruled for exactly 1260 years from 538 AD to 1798 AD. God then shows what this power does secularly, what it does religiously and what it does in connection with His people, His word, and with Redemption in Christ. What we find in Revelation 11 is that time period again repeated but this time it is in the context of God’s two witnesses which we will discuss now. First the texts that you gave are great but the text you use for the two witnesses don’t identify the two witnesses. It talks about how you establish truth. This is important because God does have two witnesses on this earth and they establish His truth. To find out what the two witnesses are we must find it in a relevant prophecy. The prophecies of Daniel and Revelation use symbolism from other prophecies. So let’s look at the two witnesses with Revelation 1:1 in mind. Revelation 11:3 “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.”(KJV). Then Verse 4 says “These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.”(KJV) Notice that the prophecy symbolizes them to two olive trees, and two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. Now this is the clue as to how we should look at the witnesses. This is an allusion to another prophecy in Zechariah 4:3-6(KJV) “Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.” So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?” Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.” So in this prophecy it equates the Two Olive Trees to the Word of The Lord to Zerubbabel. The first question we must ask is why does God through Revelation quote this prophecy from Zechariah? The answer is because He is giving us a clue to the interpretation of the two witnesses which is the Word of the Lord. So the actions of these two witnesses are symbolic of what the Word of God does. Also as you rightly pointed out these are the Two Witnesses which establish God’s Truth. This is consistent with the principle of the Literal Things of the Book of Revelation being put into symbols as God commanded the Angels in Revelation 1:1. So the Two witnesses must be the Old and New Testaments. Then it makes sense that the Word of God will testify in sackcloth for 1260 years because the papacy that causes the Word of God to be obscured during this time by making God’s word only available through the bishops. They did not translate the Bible to the common people. That is why the reformers who fought to bring the Bible to the people were killed by the papacy. Then from verses 5 and 6 God doesn’t allow the Papacy to destroy the Bible but gives it power to resist the Papacy. Then lets go to Revelation 11:7,8(KJV) “And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.” So we have to ask ourselves a few questions. When does the 2 witnesses finish their testimony? Well the context is clear after the 1260 years or after 1798. Then another power comes up out of the pit. This is an allusion to a satanic power and as we know from Daniel 7 beasts represent kingdoms. So which kingdom/nation took the power of the papacy away in 1798? The Bible gives us identifying marks. It kills the Word of God as a nation, It is and notice what it says, spiritually Sodom and Egypt where our Lord was crucified. Notice it says spiritually which means it symbolically represents the characteristics of the nation mentioned here. It’s not literally Sodom, Egypt and Jerusalem. It has the spirit of Sodom, Egypt, and The Spirit of Jerusalem or to be without Christ. So the identifying mark of this beast is that it has Sexual immorality, It is Secular and it removes Christianity(crucifies Jesus). So the power that removes the Papacy in 1798, it is secular and brings about Atheism. The nation is France. When we study our history books we see that it matches the Biblical marks. In 1798 General Berthier under Napoleon’s direction removes the pope where he dies in prison in France. France declares itself Aethist. Today we are still dealing with Atheism and evolution. Our stance is that we believe in the Bible and that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. The symbol does not have an upside down cross in it. The top of the cross ends at the left page border of the open Bible. It is confusing because of the three flames on the right side and admittedly a bad design choice.
