    Seems like Unity could easily use PhysX for DOTS as physx is highly threaded (you can see it in the jobs profiler). I wonder why they don't? Also I presume there's zero collision interaction between PhysX and Unity Physics?

    I've ran some tests, theres really no good reason to go with Unity Physics as of now, only small performance gains over PhysX.

    Havok in reality is way older than Nvidia PhysX, Havok came in 2000 and was used in more than 600 games, but IMO only really got famous when Valve used it for Half life 2 and the source engine, Nvidia PhysX came way later and from the acquisition of Ageia PhysX that in its turn came from the Novodex physics engine that was developed in 2004.

      It is old. I remember the first time I saw Havok in action in Painkiller. It made a big impression on me when I was a teenager. The game itself was brilliant, but Havok added even more fun.

      @@N3ur0funk_Infinity Indeed but I'm sure modern Havok is not exactly like old Havok, apart from the name. But the older version was a game changer for games indeed, all games that add ragdolls and cool advanced physics in the early 2000's used Havok physics, apart from Unreal 2 and some other games made on Unreal 2 engine that add its own inhouse physics engine, but like you said painkiller was a famous game where Havok played a large part in the fun, as was in Max Payne 2 and many others. :)

    I have a problem with installing the Android build support, after everything download and then when it starts to install it says Editor application install fails. 😢 (I have like 40GB left in my disk too. But it always says that, and I download it so many times, but it still doesn't work)

    We recently got Unity Pro and cannot find the "Havok" package anywhere. It does not appear in package manager. So I'm not sure what we're doing wrong.

    Isn't Havok still available for free on older versions of DOTS (0.51 and below)? I guess if you really wanted to use it and don't wish to go Pro then that's an option.

      Your best path to solving would be to send an email to support@unity3d.com with as much information as you can. Include your computer specs, the Unity version you have installed, the project template you’re using, and any add-ons to the project such as iOS or android build targets you’ve installed. They will be able to help you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

    Nice sum up of the options. Dots definitely has a steep learning curve. But I would argue that If you have no prior experience you would be better off starting using it now instead of learning Monobehavior. One of the hardest part about DOTS is to get out of the OOP mindset of Monobehavior.

      @@longiusaescius2537 No DOTS is not ECS. DOTS is larger than ECS it also includes the job system, the burst compiler and hopefully soon other packages such as animation, audio,... But in any case with ECS or the job system the way to think about your data is different from what most people are used to with mono behavior.

    I also have unity reflect review that i just got I'm not sure what i did wrong if i did but when I'm in in walk mode it doesn't go up the stairs like yours did doesn't do it either in vr mode also i was wondering if the software is able to make the doors open as I'm walking around in vr mode

      What does happen when you walk up to stairs? Do you walk through them rather than up? It could be something on the Revit side such that the stairs don’t have physical properties. If they do though, it could be a bug and you can contact support at support-reflect@unity3d.com or support@unity3d.com

      @@ironknightzero Hi, interesting that you bring up cloud. Either a package or cloud are possible outcomes yet to be known at this point. What I can say is that the upcoming Digital Twin platform releasing next year will use cloud delivery for certain tools which could makes it possible for Weta tools to be delivered this way.

      Hello Mar, I don't fully understand your question but here is a reference link to PiXYZ ( www.pixyz-software.com/documentations/html/2021.1/plugin4unity/Decimate.html ) which is a plugin to Unity that allows you to decimate any mesh object in your Unity project. The Unity Industrial Collection is a bundle that includes Unity Pro and PiXYZ.
