Young Chronic Pain
США
Добавлен 25 фев 2015
Hi! My name is Mo and I've lived with moderate-severe chronic pain for the past 10 years. I share my experiences with pain and disability through my blog Young Chronic Pain, and now through this RUclips channel. I try to use humor to highlight how awful and somewhat funny it can be to live with a body that is always against you.
From a very early age I have dealt with chronic pain. I had my first surgery on my spine at 13 years old and had many more after that. Eventually, I had my Nevro HF10 Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted at the age of 21 years old to help manage my back and leg pain. That was two years ago, and since then I have enjoyed traveling and figuring out how to do the most possible with the least amount of pain.
Videos topics you will find on this channel include: chronic pain, disability, chronic illness, spinal cord stimulators (and neurostimulation in general), international travel with my wheelchair, and more. Subscribe and come along for the ride!

What does the Nevro Spinal Cord Stimulator scar look like? | Young Chronic Pain
This is a really short clip showing what my Nevro spinal cord stimulator implant looks like under my skin. I've lost quite a bit of weight since I got it (the pain relief from the implant has definitely helped with that!) so it sticks out more than it initially did. This should give you an idea of what it would be like to have one implanted though.

Sometimes with chronic pain and illness getting by is all we can do. And it will never feel like enough.
I'm having mine done in October but the doctors ask me to take a special evaluation test did that ever happen with you
So at what point did you need this device? Was it after a series of therapy sessions that did not work?
Is your battery the part you can feel and tender or was it tender to touch
My cat chewed the blue cord to the paddle in half just the other day. When nevro called me yesterday to check on me i told her what happened and she said not to worry. A new one will be overnighted at no cost. Thats fantastic because im broke.
I had the nevro place in me, and it really doesn't work. But most of all I hate the beeping when you are charging the device and it losses the connection. It drives my husband crazy as well as myself. I will say that it beeps more than it charges. It has gotten so bad I stop charging it. They need to give us the ability to turn the beeper off.
Any updates ? Does it still work ?
Im getting the nevro implant next week. The trial went great. Im hoping for the best. So thats what they call us....cyborgs. Hahaha.
Did you have severe migraine headache after the surgery??
I agree on everything you said I am on the trial know 7days
4:50 it was explained to me at my phsyc appointment that the system doesn’t work well with depression
Getting one myself by the end of the month. Hoping it works! Thanks for the video, I’ve always wondered what it would look like after
We have the same energy. I'm on the trial right now...this fucking sucks dood :(
I will have 1 in 2 weeks Tulsa ok
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm having mine done tomorrow. Looking forward to a better life😊
Is it the same thing as Boston Scientific SCS? February 9th. I will have it in for 1 month.
In January 2023 are you still doing okay with the stimulator? I ask because I’m scheduled to get one in February 2023 and I’m a little anxious.
Thanks for this video but, not enough information was said about the Helix negative or positive impact had in your body! And is it stopping your pain 100%? My pain level is a 10+. What other informative talk did the psychologist said to you we should be aware off if you don't mind sharing. We who are still taking narcotic pain pills prescribed by Pain Doctor. But, what the pharmacies are doing are delaying giving the pain pills from 2 days to A week with the ugliest attitude by the pharmacist or they're aide person. The pharmacy people are putting people thru HELL JUST TO GET THEIR PAIN MEDS!! Any attitude we give them, They Black List people and we can no longer receive any pain meds from that pharmacy devils and that's how they are getting people permanently off any pain meds, they desperately need due to terrible sciatica nerve pain. And Doctors are not helping their patients as how they can get their pain meds when pharmacist no longer want to fill our pain scripts and they are black list the person from ever receiving pain meds again. We used to live in a free society now it's become more of a communist society. The Antichrist are in control of every important institution we people have need of. People you better start to wake up.
I’m in the beginning process to have a SCS device. Curious to know what happens if you cut or injuries your lower legs or feet would you know it? Or does the device block that pain too? Thank you.
I’m talking to my pain management doctor about this operation and am super scared. I’m 33 and I’m scared not being able to be active with my children and just being myself
Are you able to still live an active life? Gym, kids etc. I’m scared of this surgery!
I'm always amazed the people don't identify exactly what type of spinal cord stimulator they have put in cuz that makes a ton of difference I'm getting the Abbott drg proclaim spinal cord stimulator and I've been told that I should get 90 to 100% relief I have CRPS in my feet and calves.
Boho Beautiful does some nice meditation videos on RUclips too
Love your video! Prayers! God has a plan!
Hello, my name is Ramon and I had my Nevro hfx10 implanted a month ago. Unfortunately I have not been able to get the right program and intensity that would lessen my pain. For now, the Nevro guy assigned to me does not allow me to change program without him guiding me. So far I’ve only tried program 1 and 2 at different intensities. Sad to say, it has not worked yet to relieve my pain . I still have to try programs 3, 4 and 5. I really hope one of these would work to give me pain relief. From your experience, where you able to have pain relief right away or did it take some time to determine which program and intensity worked for you? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks. Ramon
Thankyou for this video!! How long did your surgery take?
Hola se puede nadar con este estimulador
Do you still have your old parts? My puppy chewed my blue charging cord in two :( be happy to buy if your cord is good!
I am looking into all the videos and photos on internet I Ben given a scared Friday is my trial and the 18th the real one just like yours nevro is it really painful and disturbing like others told me and it could go wrong or infected I’m so scared now but my pain is too much
Thankyou so much for this, my chronic pain is getting worse and I have been looking for straightforward accomodations to help me do more stuff with less pain, cos how I'm doing stuff at the moment is probably damaging. Thank you!
Hi Mo, I have many sources of chronic pain due to a genetic disease and I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis. I am considering my options before I decide what to ask for. My pain Dr has asked me about spinal cord stimulators before, but at that time I was having good results from other things. To be honest I wasn't overly enthusiastic to have foreign objects implanted in my body either. I have tried so many things before this. I am currently on medicinal cannabis and radio frequency ablation's. Because of COVID I cannot get the ablations done as frequently as I need to and I can't take enough of the cannabis oil to get good relief on it's own. I don't like the feeling of being stoned. It also causes other symptoms that I do not tolerate. I am allergic to allot of drugs and skin stuff too. Anyway I wanted to ask you a few questions if you don't mind. how did you decide on the SCS you wanted? There seem to be so many. when you use the charger do you have to wear the belt to hold it directly over the SCS? how long does it need to be charged for and how long do the charges take? does this only work on back and neck pain? can you get MRI's done with a SCS? or just CT scans. I have some other hard wear in my neck and I am not actually sure what the rules are about the metal etc I already have, ha ha. you said if you accidently bang the SCS it's self its painful. In what way? how long is the battery etc supposed to last before you need to have it changed over or anything you need to be opened up for? Thanks s much in advance
Does this help with muscle stiffness, and spasms?
Can you tell me about through the say where do you have your monitor set? And how do you manage daily
Is this for back pain? How much does it cost? Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Nicht bringst es mir
I’ve have since 2015 Microscopic discectomy, radio frequency ablation, spinal fusion and on may 21st o got the spinal cord stimulator done #CyborgLife
I’m getting mine in 4 days! I can’t wait! Thank you for sharing this with us!!
Got mine may 21st
I’m about to have this done and have been watching so many videos. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience
How did it go ??
My trail came out n I am worse off that b4 the put it in I am not sure if the permanent can help me I don’t want another surgery.
Thanks for sharing. Going through this process now.
Great vid. Thank you. I’ve had back pain for over 30 years. Have had procedures done and lived on pain meds. Got off the meds some time ago. Looking forward to trying this. Hopefully have a life and out of this dark place.
Did you end up getting one ?
I did about 2 years ago. The best thing I could’ve ever done. I got relief instantly. I charge it once a week. I know that it doesn’t work for everybody, so make sure you get a good doctor. I highly recommend it.
@@generay6807 how much pain did it take away? over 50% ?
For me (and not everyone can have the same results) it took away 95% of the pain. I was miserable. I took a video of me before the procedure to remind me of where I was and will watch it on occasion. I can’t believe the pain I was in compared to now. If you get this done I hope that you have the same results. Keep me posted.
THANK YOUUU!! I can show my boyfriend this...itll help my anxiety about getting it.
thank you so much! your attitude is amazing. You're hilarious, and I needed that. I'm talking to my doctors about a trial and i wanted to know how big it is. Anything being pokey is weird...i'm chonky, so i hope they can put it deeper.
Thanks I will be getting one soon thanks
Thanks for your help 👍🙂🙏
I just got my spinal stimulator implant 5 days ago. I am so swelled in my stomach, that I look like I am 9 months pregnant.
Wow! You nailed it. This has been my life for 20 years now. I had an IQ of 172 and now I feel so dumb because I constantly forget things or need help to do things and it's hard to think through the pain and the meds. I used to have dreams, I wanted to be a dancer, but my spine was damaged, so then I wanted to be a writer, but then the laws changed and my meds were cut back and I couldn't type for more than 10 minutes, now I only dream of someday being free of this pain.
Surgeons damaged my S1 and S2 nerve roots during spinal surgery ! I'm in terrible pain. Please can anyone tell my can SCS can help me ?? Lydia, 33 years old :( No pain meds can help me. (((((
I’m going to try this and I will let you know ☝️
I just came across your video on the SCS. It’s been while since you have talked about it. How’s it been going. I get my SCS in April.
This is exactly what I was looking for..Im having the trial done and was wanting to know what the box actually looked like under the skin so thank you!
Great video! Thank you!
