I don’t play Pokémon anymore. It was my first card game. I bought packs without knowing what chase card I could get. I moved to the video games and other card games. It’s interesting how you use special lingo like ETB (my guess is Elite Trainer Box) but in Magic the Gathering it means an ability activates when the card is played (Enter the battlefield). I used to play Cardfight Vanguard but the game died in my country after two reboots. How do you buy cards then? Do you buy it all from TCGplayer?

It feels like a collector set, but hey reprints, reprints are always nice and budew is changing the meta.

I feel like she could get a couple extra cards in future sets, maybe a solgaleo/lunala line (or just a cosmog with a very strong ability, I'd like something that could enable a garde engine) but it might just be that her cards are basically there for the sake of having 4 trainers

some funny stuff you can do. play secret box with hop to get everything u need in like 1 turn and u can discard energies and evolve in the don to get that energy on to Zacian. With the new hops bag card, you can do this way more easily

Hop's Zacian ex with Archaludon ex will be the next meta deck.

if another basic 1 prizer lillies pokemon gets revealed then you can play a deck of only those and stall the game for potentially 10 turns at least no ? more if theres a way to get the tool back from discard

I feel like you missed talking about the key most part, which is the exchange limit in the shop, making it much harder for newcomers to actually build up a collection of cards, which will inevitably have an effect on the number of players in the game as the influx of people that stay after their first couple games decreases

Expanded is Modern in MtG. And Pokémon needs to address this. They just NEED a new format. Like a much more slimmed down version of Expanded. Magic has Pioneer for example. And this is proving to be a solid alternative to Standard and Modern. It may even need to be a rotating format as well, just with a larger card pool. But now that we have seen JP ban Scoop Up Net, something must be happening soon.

I feel like I haven’t had the whole “broken deck beats you in two turns” issue when playing expanded. I love the format, and wish it got more recognition. It gives people plenty of creativity to make great decks, and not having to make new decks every rotation makes things cheaper too

As a long time tcg player with Pokémon being my first, I will say the direction Pokémon/yugioh went with making the cards stronger throughout their franchise to magic making the cards weaker in theirs. They all have their issues of course but when it comes to expanded it will be another standard format because if the cards are getting stronger so it’s no point, other then the old trainer cards of course, Also want to add venucenter deck in rocket-on was so underrated 😊 (just wanted to throw that in LOL)

Pokémon is designed in a way where you can pretty much search everything and accelerate into everything, that combining all stuff from 2011-on, it becomes a lost cause. They would need to ban so many cards to even come close to slowing the pace down. I think it's just destined to be a going-second big play format or stun lock with very little counterplay (this when there's no one turn win combo going around before it's banned). I would say tag teams suck but you can just play tsareena, volcarona, or even shadow rider or ultra necrozma.

In my opinion expanded is completely broken but I do believe that's the intent of expanded is that old and new players can combine and play against each other. Plus pokemon never wants to make their main cards obsolete

smacks of damage control curious to see how they want to handle palkia since there is supposed to be a regi v set...

I feel then we should have 2 versions of exapnded, one for s+m pre tag team, then one that includes everything since then aswell maybe trainers in but not pokemon?
