Can you categorise the shoes, on sole width, running /spongy or slim and gripy, rather than the brand. Different countries different brands, but if you provide recommendations based on sole width, wide front, narrow..something like that will help. For example : I tried wraped wall with adidas adizero boston 12, didn't helped, not a good decision.

Definitely. I'll do a bigger video on shoes for training later and break this down more, but here are the basics: First, the softer the rubber, the stickier the shoe. BUT it will wear down more quickly and need to be replaced more often (except for Xeros; mine always last 1-2 years despite regular training without losing grip). My list: 1. Xero Zelen Toe box width - 7/10 Grip (indoor surfaces) - 9/10 Zero drop - 10/10 2. Xero Forza Trainers Toe box width - 9/10 Grip (indoor surfaces) - 9/10 Zero drop - 10/10 3. Feiyue Toe box width - 4/10 Grip (indoor surfaces) - 7/10 Zero drop - 9/10 4. Tigers Toe box width - 5/10 Grip (indoor surfaces) - 9/10 Zero drop - 6/10 5. Stealth 2.0 Toe box width - 4/10 Grip (indoor surfaces) - 10/10 Zero drop - 4/10

Awesome video, thank you! So simple yet I have never really thought about this. I’m definitely going to try to get through the devil steps and some other things, sideways. I also really appreciate your care for longevity and keeping the shoulders healthy. You are 100% right that this is not talked about enough. Yet many of my fellow ninja dads are dealing with shoulder issues. Thank you for taking the time to post your helpful videos.

I'll do a more in depth video about this in the future, but here's what I did (disclaimer so I don't get in trouble. I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on the Internet. 😂 This is just my experience and application of what worked for ME, NOT medical advice). Obviously, make sure your doc clears you before you try anything. What I typically recommend to my students, provided that their doc says they're good to train and I'm aware of their specific injury, is compression training. Do more planks, more frog pose holds, more high planks (i.e. pushup position holds), and try to get to a hollow position by pressing into the floor in your high plank position. This will take a few months to feel the progress, but by doing this isometric style of training consistently over time, it will allow your connective tissues to gain strength while not building excess muscle strength. This may sound bad, but if you consider that your muscles develop at basically double the speed as your tendons and ligaments do, it's a good idea to spend some serious time training the connective tissues that hold your joints together. Again, I'll cover this more deeply in a later video, but start by getting a doctor's okay before getting back to training, and then get consistent with isometric holds in a pushing or pressing position for 30 seconds to 1 minute per day. Start small. Hold your planks and high planks for a 2-3 months before moving to frog pose, then add that to your training for awhile before getting into supported handstand training. More on this to come. Train safe, follow your doctor's orders, and godspeed! Thanks for your support! 🙏

Thank you! I was definitely thinking about going to a doctor...but I was stupid and went to a big ninja comp last weekend instead. Luckily it doesn't feel any worse than it already did, but I'm definitely thinking I need to pull back on ninja training for a little while.@@justinmoore-ninjatrainer
