Logic! But in this case long scale is too light weight for being a long scale 😂 So short scale in comparison feels too heavy even if it is normal weight for a short scale.
Feel different? Yes Weigh different? Yes Sound different? Nope. Not at all. The sound of an electric instrument is generated entirely by the pickup(s). The wood only matters for a purely acoustic instrument
Haha, I knew someone will trigger on this 😁. Yes, I personally believe that wood imapcts 0% on electric guitar and basses. But there are a lot off people who believe in tonewood, so I left space for them 😊
Hey man, nice video! I'm curious about the pickguards, how are the screw holes missing? Are the pickguards glued or something on sterlings?
Screw holes are missing because I had an opportunity to close them while repainting. Before repaint, I tried to hide them with moddelin and other stuff and they where still visable. If you watch any video before repaint, you won’t see holes because camera can’t cach ir from far away: ruclips.net/user/shortsi2HZ0vNBwsE?si=pFWu1KN4SXW2fP5t But when I tried to zoom in for bass only nasty holes where visable. And had no other choice than repaint it and hide them. And yes, every Sterling or Music Man comes with cut out holes in wood for screws. Pickguard is holding by the screws only.
You can take some toothpicks and stuff them in the screw holes and cut them down to size. A bit of putty or similar and a light sanding back of the putty before you repaint and you won't even notice them at all.
Makes a lot of sense! While there are light 5-string basses, the lighter ones often have a completely different vibe. Probably one that wouldn't fit your style. And having a shorty is a great idea as well - I also recently bought one. But my basses are completely different: My main bass is a 5-string modern Jazz-style bass (Clover Apeiron, similar to a Sandbarg California TM), my shorty is a semi-hollow, an Epiphone Rumblekat. But I really like the distinct style you're going for. Simple but very unique!
Yes, there are some lightweight basses like Ibanez EHB1005MS Headless (7.0-7.4 pounds) or Yamaha RBX A2 5 (7.7 pounds). But they look like spaceships from another planet. Mine 7.6 pound Ray4 looks like more classic instrument.

@@BassHere labai norėčiau kad būtų daugiau, nes pagrinde klausaus japanese pop, o ten miksavimas slap ir finger plucking yra labai svarbus komponentas ekspresyviam boso grojimui ir aš irgi buvau toks šokiruotas kai išgirdau roko laboratorija - hiperbolė manau irgi geras band, bet 83 metam roko lab yra kažkas neįtikėtino.
