Ok so I came back for the free login……haven’t played in close to 10 years…I decided to make a new character to relearn stuff. Going off what you said I put a bunch of stuff in the mpg case on my main BUT I don’t see it on the alt……what am I missing??

Should be no need to delete FFXI to play on a private server. I am on Horizon XI, doing the casual grind.

You can upload your macros and settings to the server, I have used it to get macros on different computers. The option is on the character select screen

You can play Cat'sEyeXI and Retail on the same Computer no problem! Keep your macros! I also have a CatseyeXI account too, love that server.

Something else that also helps me keep up with 11 is just changing things up. Going to weird apec/locus camps. Playing and trying to upgrade different jobs, even if I don't make gargantuan progress. Helping people with random shenanigans. I'm probably gonna put out a recording or two myself, even though I keep saying my LP is done lol

Whatcha really need to not get burnt out on XI is a group of people, even just a friend or two! I'd be a lot more burned out if I had more time to play. Which I do now cause I recently lost my job to petty office drama. If you want one last hurrah before you take your break, just hit me up. I'm not sure if its a generational thing. I'm a millenial, never really cared for xmas or new years celebrations (except probably as a kid). For me its more of a inconvience with stores closed, lol. But I know for my dad, its a big deal. Same goes for birthdays, couldn't care less lol

Watching you progress I'm like 'How the hell do you get so far' Then I remember I have 24 characters over 3 accounts and find it difficult to focus on a main, lol

I used to play this on PS2. I have too mich going on with Black Desert, Blade & Soul, and Girl's Frontline 2, but I am planning on trying out the 2 week trial of this when I'm bored of those.

Y-axis definitely always needs to be inverted. I attribute this to the first time I played Star Fox on the SNES as a kid.

Corsair is relatively cheap these days compared to what it used to be. All you gotta do is get all of the dice and make your Corsair roll bosting AF/Relic/Empy armor pieces. Then you're pretty much as effective as you can be, short of getting the Su5 knife that lets you get longer roll duration and 1 more enhancement level than Regal neck. Then pick up a stack of Trump Cards for your elemental Quickdraw shots. Get pretty solid roll enhancements off a cheap Barataria Ring to start, then work into an Omen group for Regal Necklace or whatever, you're kinda set until you can get that Su5 knife. Not like BRD, which in order to have its best buffs needs: Gjallarhorn Daurdabla (Empyrean Harp) (as expensive as any empyrean weapon) Marsyas (Requires 50k Escha beads and the aeonic process) +3 Songs necklace (20+ mil currently on our server) All of its AF/Relic/Empyrean armor made Carwenhan Mythic dagger (Mythic weapons give Empyrean weapons a run for their money gil sink wise) So BRD is like 500 million gil just to get going. Compared to like 1/5th that for COR. And that's just thinking about buffing gear. Not mentioning all of the other gear you need to really give either job teeth, but without a doubt BRD is still more expensive because they have to random augment several Linos flutes in Adoulin just to have their best offense option in the ranged/instrument slot. A committed COR will make a mythic or empyrean gun, but they don't have to to give the group what it cares about, more often than not.

All those games on desktop.. FFXVI awaits! Also feel ya on the grind. Makes you appreciate those warriors who survived the 75 era. :D

watching you get lost and spam the map brings back horrible memories of traveling through the Khazam jungles to get to my party in 2004 lol It got where I was memorizing certain bushes, holes, mob pops, drops lol and Id still end up at Ifrits Cauldron or the Temple 😅 lost for 40 minutes, arrive, pull 2 mobs..party disbands lol it was the best 😂

August was the best tank for single target tanking until they updated the way shield blocking works for trusts/increased innate -DT% for a lot of tank trusts, from what I've read over the years. He's still an excellent tank, it's just he's a little weird when it comes to offenses because he has special attack animations that aren't affected by haste/atk etc. He gains -50% PDT and Regen and accelerated TP gain when he turns his wings on. He also erases his own status effects when he pops the wings on and has enhanced terror resistance. Nowadays though, it's pretty much consensus that Ark Angel EV is best single target. Valaineral is best AOE. I still pop August out, cause I feel like he attacks a bit faster than either of them and has better enmity control. I could swear he uses Majesty like Valaineral too, but might just be mandela effect.

Been enjoying your FFXI journey and having nostalgia seeing FFXI again. I haven't played since seekers expansion in Xbox 360 and don't have a PC to play on it again. I do have a steam deck but I'm not sure if it's possible to play FFXI on it. And for old FF games, my favorite are FFVI and FFV along with ffvii, ffx and ffxii. I'll definitely watch your playthroughs

You can turn on 2nd factor authentication, get the Mog satchel, then turn off the 2nd factor authentication and keep the satchel.

All this game truly needs is a rework from playonline and updated to a current logging menu cause for new people is a pain in the ass trying to figure out

We did COP as a Linkshell every Sunday, used to take hours getting everyone through the content (always someone who forgot a step or a key item - good times, lol)
