So delicious
Thank you. This is terrific.
My favorite Piano Trio.
Trio Magnifiquement difficile et sublimement joué. Interprétation à garder comme référence
I’ve listened to several editions of this piece; this one has the magic!

Great players and musicians, especially the violinist
Alexandrw Kantorov👏👏
The beginning of this Trio is absolutely beautiful, so poignant!
Violín y chelo fantásticos.
Never heard this piece in 75 years of concert going! Great discovery to make after all this time. Great performance of beautiful music,
75 years ! That’s a lot of experience. Hopefully that will be me someday !
I discovered this piece recently (also in my 70's). It's my favorite piece of Tchaikovsky's, i think his finest work. Right up there with the greatest piano trios in the classical repertory.
Now that we have the funeral version available, this performance is so sad, it's breaking my heart guys, let us fans have the cheer up version, let us feel the Spring time Renaissance spirit in your hearts Ok? Music is so beautiful because you can go creative in infinite boundless ways
Sad performance?
I think you probably meant what sad music?
Awesome interpretation
What an absolute excellent performance. Everything about this is great… sound, tone… togetherness as if it grew that way!! Bravo
So beautiful... wonderful performance
@Queeen q ....
Why did you omit the fugal variation no. 8 that should have been played at 28:16? Too diffficult? Why has no one else pointed this out in one and a half years?
The score says "This variation can be omitted" (a cut permitted by Tchaikovsky himself).
@James Andrewes Thanks for this info, you are correct. Also Tchaik. indicated a big chunk of the finale was optional. Still, the operative word was "можно"= "one can" and most other trios play the material, for good reason.
@@rocamaxivojofahd333 you obviously like the fugue 🙂 I'm on the fence. To me, it doesn't really add much, given that the previous movement already ends on an exhilarating high, setting up the surprise of the melancholy C# minor variation to come. And fugues usually come at the end of a set of variations, so it seems misplaced. I can see why Tchaikovsky suggested this variation could be cut (as opposed to any of the other variations, which, to me, have more character). In what way do you feel the fugue is 'vital', as you mentioned in another comment?
@@jamesandrewes9640 I guess because fugues were rare in late-romantic music and Tchaikovsky was quite adept at them, writing several including for Orchestral Suite No 1 and various piano pieces before this Trio. A good performance--on YT for example Viviane Hagner & Co (who play it hell-for-leather) or Kirill Troussov & Co (more lyrical) should hold the listener's attention from the first piano entry in octaves and then with the visible contrapuntal interplay of the string and piano voices. The trio is poorer without it in my opinion, whatever conventions may apply as to its positioning within a set of variations. According to Wikipedia it seems the entire trio was an experiment anyway at the request of Nadezhda von Meck, because Tchaikovsky disliked the instrumental combination.
Bravissimi!
appassionante,emozionante, grande musica, grandi musicisti.
The playing is excellent, careful and passionate but not out of order. Bravo!
Fantastic performance. Thank you for sharing.
The violonist is absolutely brilliant! So much lyricism!!!
This is my favorite piece of music . so sentimental and touching. deep .
Exceptional playing with special mention to this exceptional pianist, BRAVO!!!
Stunning performance of probably the most difficult trio in the entire repertory...
If they actually played all of it..
@@rocamaxivojofahd333 ??
@@Janaceks_Dad They omitted the vital fugal variation no.8 that I was comparing between different ensembles (please see my separate comment). Having ascertained that, I did not listen to the whole piece to see if anything else was missing.
Breathtaking from the very first to the very last note. Bravissimi!!!!
Stunning performance by 3 exceptional musicians! Superb, sublime, sonorous! Bravo!!!
WOW! i think that says it all. My now favorite YT performance of this masterpiece.
